Richard Alloway II
Richard Alloway II is an American politician and lawyer. He is a former Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate. He was elected to fill the seat of retiring senator Terry Punt. Early life and career Alloway attended Chambersburg Area Senior High School and graduated in the class of 1986 before attending Shippensburg University and then Widener University Commonwealth Law School He served as a magisterial district judge and on the staff of his predecessor, Terry Punt. Alloway was a member of Downtown Chambersburg, Inc., and was the President of the Greene and Lurgan Township Lions Clubs. Political career Alloway was first elected in 2008 to serve as the State Senator for the 33rd District, and was subsequently re-elected in 2012 and 2016. Lurgan Township is a township in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,207 at the 2020 census. It was named after the town of Lurgan in Northern Ireland. History The McClay's Twin Bridge (East) and McClay's Twin Bridge (West) were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Geography Lurgan Township is in northeastern Franklin County, bordered to the northeast by Cumberland County. The southeastern two-thirds of the township are in the Cumberland Valley, while the northwestern third is in the Ridge and Valley Province of the Appalachian Mountains. Shippensburg is a borough in Cumberland and Franklin counties in the U.S. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. John Fetterman
John Karl Fetterman (born August 15, 1969) is an American politician who is the United States senator-elect from Pennsylvania. A member of the Democratic Party, he has also served as the 34th lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania since 2019. Fetterman was the mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2019. Generally described as a progressive, Fetterman advocates healthcare as a right, criminal justice reform, abolishing capital punishment, raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour, and legalizing cannabis. Beginning his professional career in the insurance industry, Fetterman studied finance at Albright College and earned an MBA from the University of Connecticut. He went on to join AmeriCorps and earned a Master of Public Policy degree from Harvard.
