Franklin Edmundo Rijkaard (; born 30 September 1962) is a Dutch former footballer and former manager who played as a defensive midfielder. Rijkaard played for Ajax, Real Zaragoza and AC Milan and represented the Netherlands national team side 73 times, scoring 10 goals. In his managerial career, he was at the helm of the Netherlands national team, Sparta Rotterdam, Barcelona, Galatasaray and the Saudi Arabia national team. Charles-Louis Richard (April 1711 – 16 August 1794) was a Catholic theologian and publicist. Life Richard was born at Blainville-sur-l'Eau, in Lorraine. His family though of noble descent, was poor, and he received his education in the schools of his native town. At the age of sixteen he entered the Dominican Order and, after his religious profession, was sent to study theology in Paris, where he received a Doctorate at the Sorbonne. He next applied himself to preaching and the defense of religion against d'Alembert, Voltaire, and their confederates. Charles Richard
Charles Richard (10 March 1900 – 31 May 1978) was a Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada. Born in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Quebec, he was a dental surgeon by career. Richard's first attempt at a House of Commons seat was in the 1935 federal election at Kamouraska, where he was defeated by Joseph Georges Bouchard of the Liberal party. During World War II Richard was a member of the Royal Canadian Dental Corps. At one time he also served as vice-president of Quebec's provincial dental society (''Société dentaire de Québec''). He was first elected at the Kamouraska riding in the 1958 general election. Bernard Richard (born April 11, 1951) is a Canadian social worker, lawyer, and politician in the Province of New Brunswick. Early life and education Raised and educated in Cap-Pelé, New Brunswick, Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Moncton and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of New Brunswick. Political career He first entered politics as a young man, running unsuccessfully in Shediac for the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick as a Parti Acadien candidate in the 1974 election. He became involved in municipal politics in the village of Cap-Pélé. His second entry into provincial politics was in the 1991 election, this time as a Liberal. He won. Antoine Richard "du Cantal" (4 February 1802 – 10 February 1891) was a French doctor, veterinarian, agronomist and politician. Early years Antoine Richard was born in Pierrefort, Cantal, on 4 February 1802. He enlisted as a volunteer in the 1st Cuirassiers of the Guard and was sent to the ''École nationale vétérinaire d'Alfort'' (National Veterinary School of Alfort) as a military student. In 1828 he was admitted as a veterinarian to the 1st Artillery. He was stationed in Strasbourg, where he attended the Faculty of Medicine and obtained a degree as a doctor. He went to Algeria, then returned to Grignon to teach rural economy. From 1832 Richard was a member of the Republican Society of the Rights of Man (Société des droits de l'homme). Alfred Léon Gérault (18606 December 1911), known as Gérault-Richard, was a French journalist and socialist politician, born at Bonnétable (in the ''département'' of Sarthe) of a peasant family. Gérault-Richard began life as a working upholsterer, first at Le Mans, and then at Paris (1880), where his peasant and socialist songs won him fame in the Montmartre quarter. Prosper-Olivier Lissagaray, the communard, offered him a position on ''La Bataille'', and he became a regular contributor to the progressive journals, especially to '' La Petite République'', of which he became editor-in-chief in 1897. Alain Richard (, born 29 August 1945) is a French politician serving as Senator for Val-d'Oise since 2011.
