Rich Bartel
Richard John Bartel (born February 3, 1983) is a former American football quarterback in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Redskins and Arizona Cardinals. He played college football at Tarleton State. He also played baseball in the Cincinnati Reds minor league organization. Early years Bartel attended Grapevine High School, where he lettered in football and baseball. As a junior, he passed for over 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns. As a senior in football, he passed for over 2,800 yards and 27 touchdowns, while leading his team to a 7-4 record and a state playoff appearance. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Whether running, passing, returning a kickoff or punt, or recovering a turnover, a team scores a touchdown by advancing the ball into the opponent's end zone.
