''Ricco the Mean Machine'' ( it, Un tipo con una faccia strana ti cerca per ucciderti, es, Ajuste de cuentas, also known as ''The Cauldron of Death'' and ''The Dirty Mob'') is a 1973 Italian-Spanish crime-thriller film directed by Tulio Demicheli and starring Christopher Mitchum and Barbara Bouchet. It became a cult film because of its violent and gory scenes, including a graphic castration. The US title was actually a misspelling of the main character's name Rico. Tulio Demicheli
Tulio Demicheli (born August 15, 1914, Buenos Aires, Argentina - d. May 25, 1992, Madrid, Spain) was an Argentina, Argentine film director, born Spanish film director, screenwriter and film producer of the classic era. Born as Armando Bartolomé Demichelli in 1914, Demicheli initially began as a screenwriter in 1944 but by 1950 with his directorial debut in ''Arrabalera (1950 film), Arrabalera'' in 1950 he began to simultaneously direct and write for his films. He directed and wrote for some 60 films between 1944 and 1987. Overall he is best known for his work in Tango (dance), tango film production and worked with popular actors of the period such as Tita Merello, Santiago Gómez Cou and Tito Alonso. He died on May 25, 1992 from cancer, aged 77. Ángel Álvarez (26 September 1906 – 13 December 1983) was a prolific Spanish film actor. He made over 205 film appearances between 1945 and 1982. He is probably best known for his western films of the 1960s and 1970s. He appeared in Spaghetti Western films such as ''Navajo Joe'', and '' Django'' in 1966 opposite Franco Nero.
