Ricardo Roberto Barreto da Rocha (born 11 September 1962) is a Brazilian retired footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Rocha was born in Recife. During his career he represented Manchete Futebol Clube do Recife (then known as Associação Atlética Santo Amaro), Santa Cruz Futebol Clube, Guarani Futebol Clube, Sporting Clube de Portugal (having a brief spell with the Primeira Liga giants), São Paulo FC, Real Madrid – where he helped to the 1993 conquest of the Copa del Rey – Santos FC, CR Vasco da Gama, Olaria Atlético Clube, Fluminense FC, Newell's Old Boys and Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, retiring at nearly 37. Rocha was coach of Santa Cruz in 2001 and 2007, without, however, the same success as a player. International career Rocha played 38 matches with the Brazilian national team in eight years, his debut coming on 19 May 1987 in an exhibition game with England (1–1). Ricardo Sérgio Rocha Azevedo (born 3 October 1978), known as Rocha, is a Portuguese former footballer who played mainly as a central defender. After starting out professionally with Braga he signed for Benfica in late 2001, going on to appear in 157 competitive matches with the latter club. He spent the vast majority of his remaining career in England with Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth, for a total of three Premier League seasons. Club career Portugal Rocha was born in Santo Tirso, Porto District. Having made a name for himself with perennial UEFA Cup qualification candidates S.C. Braga and making his Primeira Liga debut during the 1999–2000 season, he moved to S.L. Ricardo Nuno Oliveira da Rocha (born 18 November 1982) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Born in Matosinhos, Rocha competed in the lower leagues until the age of almost 27, when he signed for G.D. Chaves for 2009–10. He made his debut in the Segunda Liga on 16 August by featuring the full 90 minutes in a 0–1 home loss against C.D. Feirense, and contributed a further 23 appearances as the season ended in relegation. Additionally, he helped his team reach the final of the Taça de Portugal, being sent off in the last minute of the 2–1 defeat to FC Porto. Rocha left Chaves in late January 2011, and joined Primeira Liga club S.C. Beira-Mar on a free transfer. After failing to establish himself, he returned to the second tier with S.C.
