Ricardo Iorio
Ricardo Iorio (born 25 June 1962) is an Argentine heavy metal singer and bassist who participated in various of the most important metal bands of the nation. He was one of the founders of V8 (1979–1987) and later founded the successful band Hermética (1988–1994). He has been the singer and main composer of Almafuerte since 1995. His songs are realistic urban stories dealing with the life of lower classes, as well as Argentine 'metalheads'. Even though he played the bass with every band he integrated, he has recently chosen Beto Ceriotti to be the new bassist of Almafuerte, remaining as the singer and main composer of the band (mostly lyrics). Extremely nationalist, Iorio continuously proclaims in his songs and in the media the pride in being Argentine and Argentine history, and mixes native music styles like tango, Indian and gaucho culture with the heavy metal base of Almafuerte. The young people who go to Almafuerte's shows consider him to be like a patriotic guru. He ...

Ciudadela, Buenos Aires
Ciudadela is a city in Greater Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is located in the Tres de Febrero Partido, immediately to the west of the neighborhood of Liniers in Buenos Aires city proper. It is separated from the city by General Paz avenue. History Home to a cattle ranch in colonial times (''Rancho de Castro''), the area was the site of a base of operations for Viceroy Santiago de Liniers during the British invasions of the Río de la Plata of 1806. The first settlement was named ''Villa Liniers'' in his honor, and was the site of a major military camp after 1902. The town began to take shape with the arrival of the Ferrocarril Oeste railway in 1910, and was officially established that year. Ciudadela gradually grew around the railway station, and eventually merged into the Greater Buenos Aires urban agglomeration. Fuerte Apache, whose official name is "Barrio Ejército de los Andes" ( en, italic=yes, Army of the Andes Barrio), is a public housing develo ...

Horcas
Horcas is a heavy metal band from Argentina created in 1988 by Osvaldo Civile, former guitarist for V8, Argentina’s landmark heavy metal outfit of the 1980s. After quitting V8 in 1985, and impressed by the new generation of thrash metal bands from the Bay Area led by Metallica, Civile set out to put together a new group in that style. That project, which included former V8 bandmate Gustavo Rowek on the drums, was however delayed for a number of reasons, and it was not until 1988 that it could definitely take off. By that time though, put off by the incessant postponements, Rowek had joined another former V8 member, Walter Giardino, in his new project Rata Blanca. History 1988 - 1990 - Reinará la Tempestad The first version of Horcas had Civile on lead guitar, Adrián Zucchi on rhythm, Eddie Walker on bass, Gabriel Ganzo on drums and Hugo Benítez on vocals. The band quickly garnered recognition in local heavy metal circles, mainly because of Civile’s past as a V8 membe ...

After its dissolution former members have continued their careers starting other heavy metal bands, Hermética, Horcas, Rata Blanca, Logos and Almafuerte. Their first album was the first real piece of Argentine Metal, full in the raw style of their idols. They had much internal trouble, but managed to bring out another classic album in 1984. Their problems with drugs, alcohol and unprofessionalism got bigger, and they changed their drummer and guitar player twice. Under pressure of the record company, they recorded a third album, which became another classic in Argentine metal history. At this ...

Intérpretes
''Intérpretes'' is an EP released in 1990 by heavy metal band Hermética. It is an album of covers, including songs from artists like Motörhead, V8 and Manal, among others. Production ''Intérpretes'' is the second work produced by Hermética, after the 1989 ''Hermética'' album. At that point, the label Trípoli Discos could provide only 27 hours of recording time. The band accepted the proposal. Lacking new songs, the band recorded a cover album. Bassist Ricardo Iorio commented that they were not really interested in receiving royalties, and thus had no problems in recording covers. One of the songs is a thrash metal version of the tango '' Cambalache''. Iorio commented that the lyrics of the song, written in the 1930s, were still vigent, and close to the lyrics of Hermética. He also played the song as an homage to Enrique Santos Discépolo, a tango artist that influenced him, and pointed that the song is well-known in neighbour countries. The band recorded as well "''Dest ...
