Ric Mathias (born December 10, 1975) was a player in the US National Football League for the Cincinnati Bengals in 1998 as a defensive back. Biography Mathias was born on December 10, 1975, in Monroe, Wisconsin. He attended Monroe High School. He played football at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage. The Wisconsin–La Crosse Eagles football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse located in the La Crosse, Wisconsin. Wisconsin–La Crosse competes at the NCAA Division III level and is a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The Eagles play their home games at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
