Ri Song-hak () is a politician of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). He serves as the Vice Premier of North Korea and a member of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Career In April 2020, he was elected as a candidate member of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea at the Political Bureau meeting of the Central Committee. Two days later, at the Third Plenary Meeting of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly, he was appointed the Minister of Machine Building Industry, succeeding Choe Il-ryong. In January 2021, he participated as a speaker in the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea's Business Conference at the 8th Party Congress and was elected as a member of the Central Committee. Workers' Party Of Korea
The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) is the founding and sole ruling party of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, commonly known as North Korea. Founded in 1949 from the merger of the Workers' Party of North Korea and the Workers' Party of South Korea, the WPK is the oldest active party in Korea. It also controls the Korean People's Army, North Korea's armed forces. The WPK is the largest party represented in the Supreme People's Assembly and coexists with two other legal parties making up the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea. Kim Tok-hun (, born 1961) is a North Korean politician serving as the Premier of North Korea since August 2020. He is also a full member on the Presidium of the Politburo of the Workers' Party of Korea and served as the chief of the parliamentary budget committee. Choe Ryong-hae (born 15 January 1950) is a North Korean politician and military officer who currently serves as Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly and First Vice President of the State Affairs Commission, holding both positions since April 2019. Koreans ( South Korean: , , North Korean: , ; see names of Korea) are an East Asian ethnic group native to the Korean Peninsula. The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea ( ko, ์กฐ์ ๋ก๋๋น ์ค์์์ํ) is the highest party body between national meetings of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the ruling party of North Korea. According to WPK rules, the Central Committee is elected by the party congress and the party conference can be conferred the right to renew its membership composition. In practice, the Central Committee has the ability to dismiss and appoint new members without consulting with the wider party at its own plenary sessions. Parliamentary elections were held in North Korea on 10 March 2019 to elect the members of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly. The elections were announced on 6 January 2019. With only one candidate on the ballot in each constituency, outside observers described it as a show election. 687 candidates for the DPRK deputies to the SPA were elected.
