Ri-Fi Singles
Ri-Fi was an Italian record company and label, active between 1959 and 1982. The company was founded in Milan by , who also served as CEO.Mauro De Luigi. "Ri-Fi". Gino Castaldo (edited by). The company discovered and launched many artists, including Iva Zanicchi, Fred Bongusto and I Giganti, as well as recording established artists such as Fausto Leali and Michele. Notably, singer Mina had several major hits with Ri-Fi between 1963 and 1967, including "Città vuota", "È l'uomo per me", "Un anno d'amore" and "E se domani". A few years after the death of Ansoldi in 1979, the company went on hiatus. Fred Bongusto
Alfredo Antonio Carlo Buongusto (6 April 1935 – 8 November 2019), known by his stage name Fred Bongusto, was an Italian light music singer, songwriter and composer who was very popular in the 1960s and 1970s. Career history Bongusto was born in Campobasso. He made his recording debut with the song "Bella Bellissima", a song written by Ghigo Agosti and produced by the Milan-based label Primary. It was released on phonographic record in 1960. Some of his most successful songs include "Amore fermati", "Una rotonda sul mare", "Spaghetti a Detroit" and "Prima c'eri tu", which won the 1966 edition of Un disco per l'estate. Bongusto's proclivity for exploring Latin American rhythms and American Big Band swing made him very popular in South America, especially in Brazil. He had collaborated with Toquinho, Vinicius de Moraes and João Gilberto, who successfully covered Bongusto's song "Malaga" in his 1991 album João. I Giganti are an Italian pop band founded in 1964. In the 1960s, they had a number of hits including ''Una ragazza in due'', an Italian version of Mister Murray's ''Down Comes the Rain''. Fausto Leali
Faustino (Fausto) Leali (born 29 October 1944, Nuvolento, Brescia, Italy) is an Italian pop singer. Early life Leali began his musical career as a singer in several bands in his native Brescia. His first guitar teacher was Tullio Romano, of the band Los Marcellos Ferial. Career Leali's first release was a 1962 promotional single as "Fausto Denis", for the magazine ''Nuova Enigmistica Tascabile''. He then joined the Novelty, a Beat band formed by Franco Piacibello (saxophone), Delio Ombrella (drums), Silvio Pesce (bass) and Piero Braggi (guitar) in Alessandria that had already released an EP in 1961. With the group he managed to obtain a recording contract with the Music record label, and release a few singles, including two covers of Beatles –"Please Please Me" and "Lei ti ama" ("She Loves You"). Gianfranco Michele Maisano, best known as Michele (born 22 June 1944) is an Italian singer and actor. Background Born in Vigevano, as a child Maisano moved to Genoa, where he attended the Nautical Institute. He recorded his first single at age 14. Abandoned the name Michele Maisano, he obtained his first success as Michele in 1963 with the song "Se mi vuoi lasciare", which won the musical contest Cantagiro and ranked first in the Italian hit parade. In the sixties Michele then achieved some further successes including some cover versions to songs by Elvis Presley. Peermusic is a United States-based independent Music publisher (popular music), music publisher. History Ralph Peer, a field recording engineer and Artists and repertoire, A&R representative for Victor Records, went on a scouting trip to Bristol, Tennessee. For two weeks, he recorded artists such as Jimmie Rodgers (country singer), Jimmie Rodgers and The Carter Family in what later became famous as the Bristol sessions.
