Rhode Island International Horror Film Festival
The Rhode Island International Horror Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Providence, Rhode Island, which features a wide variety of horror, sci-fi, and thriller films, as well as documentaries, from the United States and around the world. Founded in 2000, as one of several "festival sidebars" of the Rhode Island International Film Festival, it is the largest and longest-running horror film festival in New England. The festival is known for screening formerly lost and restored films, most often silent films with live accompaniment, at the historic Columbus Theatre. The German horror films ''Nosferatu'' (1922) and '' Unheimliche Geschichten'' (1919) premiered at the 2002 and 2004 festivals respectively. Providence, Rhode Island
Providence is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Rhode Island. ''Grace'' is a 2009 American horror film written and directed by Paul Solet. It is based on the 2006 short film of the same name. The short film was used to obtain funding for the feature version. Michael Matheson (Stephen Park) and his pregnant wife Madeline (Jordan Ladd) are involved in a car accident. Michael dies, and doctors tell Madeline that her unborn child is dead, too. Madeline, desperate after trying to have a child for years, decides to carry her baby to term anyway. The child, a girl, initially appears stillborn. On 24 August 2003 it premiered at the London FrightFest Film Festival and stars Kevin Howarth and Mark Stevenson. ''The Last Horror Movie'' was released onto DVD through Fangoria's ''Gore Zone'' label on 7 December 2004. Plot The film follows Max Parry ( Kevin Howarth), a disturbed wedding video cameraman, and his unnamed assistant (Mark Stevenson) as they perform several murders that they have videotaped. A short film is any motion picture that is short enough in running time not to be considered a feature film.
