Rhiannon Adam
Rhiannon Adam (born 1985) is an Irish photographic artist and writer, living in London. Her books include ''Dreamlands, Wastelands'' (2014) and ''Big Fence / Pitcairn Island'' (2022). Adam is one of eight crew members for the ''dearMoon'' project, a lunar tourism mission and art project scheduled to launch in 2023. Life and work Adam was born in Cork, Ireland and lives in Hackney, London. In 2015, she was selected for the Journey of a Lifetime programme, run by the Royal Geographical Society and BBC's Radio 4. She spent three months in the Pitcairn Islands, and drew on these experiences to create a radio piece and a book, ''Big Fence / Pitcairn Island'' (2022). DearMoon Project
The ''dearMoon'' project is a lunar tourism mission and art project conceived and financed by Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa. It will make use of a SpaceX Starship spacecraft on a private spaceflight flying a single circumlunar trajectory around the Moon. The passengers will be Maezawa and eight other civilians, and there may be one or two crew members. The project was unveiled in September 2018 and was scheduled to launch in 2023. The project objective is to have eight passengers travel with Maezawa for free around the Moon on a six-day tour. Maezawa expects that the experience of space tourism will inspire the accompanying passengers in the creation of something new. The art would be exhibited some time after returning to Earth to help promote peace around the world. The Pitcairn Islands (; Pitkern: '), officially the Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands, is a group of four volcanic islands in the southern Pacific Ocean that form the sole British Overseas Territory in the Pacific Ocean. Benidorm is a town and municipality in the province of Alicante, Valencia, on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Margate
Margate is a seaside resort, seaside town on the north coast of Kent in south-east England. Instant Film
Instant film is a type of photographic film that was introduced by Polaroid Corporation to produce a visible image within minutes or seconds of the photograph's exposure. The film contains the chemicals needed for developing and fixing the photograph, and the camera exposes and initiates the developing process after a photo has been taken. In earlier Polaroid instant cameras the film is pulled through rollers, breaking open a pod containing a reagent that is spread between the exposed negative and receiving positive sheet. This film sandwich develops for some time after which the positive sheet is peeled away from the negative to reveal the developed photo.
