Rhein-Hellweg-Express
The Rhein-Hellweg-Express (RE 11) is a Regional-Express service in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), running from Hamm via Dortmund, Bochum, Essen, Duisburg and Düsseldorf Airport to Düsseldorf Hbf. It is named after the Rhine and the Westphalian Hellweg. The line is part of the Rhine-Ruhr Express (RRX) network and is operated by National Express. History In 1988 the first regular interval regional rapid train service was established from Dortmund via Essen, Duisburg and Düsseldorf to Cologne. This operated hourly on the Cologne–Duisburg and Dortmund–Duisburg lines, which even then were the most important railway lines for passenger traffic in North Rhine-Westphalia. With the introduction of high-speed regional services in the early 1990s, this line was named the NRW-Express (originally numbered RSB 1; from 1995 it was redesignated as Stadt-Express line SE 1) and ran from Bielefeld via Hamm, Dortmund, Essen, Duisburg, Düsseldorf and Cologne to Aachen. Soest (Germany) Station
Soest station is a passenger station in the city of Soest in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Hamm–Warburg and the Dortmund–Soest lines. It was also served by passenger trains on the Möhne Valley Railway (''Möhnetalbahn'') from 1899 to 1960. Train services It is served by occasional Intercity services. In regional traffic, it is served by the Rhein-Hellweg-Express on the Düsseldorf–Soest route every two hours. The ''Rhein-Hellweg-Express'' is operated by DB Regio NRW. Warburg (Westfalen) Station
The Warburg station (german: Bahnhof Warburg (Westfalen) or ''Bf Warburg (Westf)'') is located on the north-eastern edge of the German town of Warburg. The station was built in 1852 and 1853. Warburg and Minden stations are the last stations from the early railway history of the Prussian province of Westphalia that are still in their original form as island stations (''Inselbahnhöfen''), with the station entrance buildings located between the tracks. Location The station is located at Warburg on the double track and electrified Hamm–Warburg line to Hamm, the Frederick William Northern Railway to Kassel and the non-electrified Upper Ruhr Valley Railway to Hagen. Kamen Station
Kamen station is a station in the city of Kamen in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Dortmund–Hamm railway. The line has only two tracks through Kamen, although quadruplication is planned, but its realisation is far away. Kamen station is an architectural monument built by the Cologne-Minden Railway Company in 1847. Wattenscheid Station
Wattenscheid station is on the Witten/Dortmund–Oberhausen/Duisburg railway. It is one of two stations in the formerly independent city of Wattenscheid, now a district of the city of Bochum in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Essen Hauptbahnhof
Essen Hauptbahnhof (German for "Essen main station") is a railway station in the city of Essen in western Germany. It is situated south of the old town centre, next to the A 40 motorway. It was opened in 1862 by the Bergisch-Märkische Eisenbahn. However, the station was not the first in Essen: as the station called ''Essen'' (today Essen-Altenessen) on the Köln-Mindener Eisenbahn was opened in 1847. Duisburg Hauptbahnhof is a railway station in the city of Duisburg in western Germany. It is situated at the meeting point of many important national and international railway lines in the Northwestern Ruhr valley. Rheinhausen Station
Rheinhausen station is located in the Duisburg suburb of Rheinhausen in the Lower Rhine region of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It lies on the Duisburg-Ruhrort–Mönchengladbach railway and is the starting point of the Lower Rhine Railway towards Xanten. Lippstadt Station
Lippstadt station is a stop for long-distance services on the Mid-Germany Railway (german: Mitte-Deutschland-Verbindung) in the town of Lippstadt in the district of Soest, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
