Rheem Creek
Rheem Creek is a urban stream in western Contra Costa County, California, which empties into San Pablo Bay south of Point Pinole. The creek rises from Rolling Hills Cemetery and passes through Rollingwood, the campus of Contra Costa Community College, and the city of San Pablo, California. Near this area at the end of the creek a business park is being built and there has been some concern on how the creek may be impacted by the construction. San Pablo Bay
San Pablo Bay is a tidal estuary that forms the northern extension of San Francisco Bay in the East Bay and North Bay regions of the San Francisco Bay Area in northern California. Most of the Bay is shallow; however, there is a deep water channel approximately in the middle of the bay, which allows access to major ports in Sacramento, Stockton, Benicia, and Martinez; and other smaller ports on the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. Point Pinole
Point Pinole Regional Shoreline is a regional park on the shores of the San Pablo Bay, California (the northern arm of the San Francisco Bay), in the United States. Rollingwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Contra Costa County, California, United States. As of the 2010 census, Rollingwood's population was 2,969. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , all of it land. History The federal government contracted David Bohannon, one of the nation's lead mass production developers, to develop Rollingwood. Federal officials approved bank loans to finance construction, requiring that the homes not be sold to African-Americans. In 1952, Wilbur Gary, an African-American navy war veteran, former shipyard worker, and building contractor, purchased a home in Rollingwood from fellow navy war veteran Lieutenant Commander Sidney Hogan. San Pablo (Spanish for "St. Paul") is an enclave city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The city of Richmond surrounds nearly the whole city. William Rheem
William S. Rheem (1862 – April 19, 1919), a.k.a. W.S. Rheem, was an important civic figure in the politics of early Richmond, California in addition to being president of the Standard Oil Company of California (today's Chevron Corporation) from 1917 until his death. Overview Rheem was born in Minnesota and raised in Pennsylvania. At age 23, he became a chemist for Standard Oil in Franklin, Pennsylvania. He later led the construction efforts for a Standard Oil refinery in Whiting, Indiana. In 1900, Standard Oil acquired the Pacific Coast Oil Company of California.
