Bogra-7 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh since 2019 by independent politician Rezaul Karim Bablu. Boundaries The constituency encompasses Gabtali Upazila, Gabtali and Shajahanpur Upazila, Shajahanpur upazilas. History The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973. Ahead of the 2008 Bangladeshi general election, 2008 general election, the Bangladesh Election Commission, Election Commission redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the 2001 Bangladesh census. The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency. The Jatiya Sangsad ( bn, জাতীয় সংসদ, lit=National Parliament, translit=Jatiyô Sôngsôd), often referred to simply as the ''Sangsad'' or JS and also known as the House of the Nation, is the supreme legislative body of Bangladesh. The current parliament of Bangladesh contains 350 seats, including 50 seats reserved exclusively for women. Elected occupants are called Member of Parliament, or MP.
