Rex Brough
Rex Brough (born 1960 in Meriden, West Midlands, Meriden, Warwickshire), also known as King John and the Red King, is an English record producer and editor of radio programmes, mainly for the BBC. His production work includes UK top 40 hits for Bomb the Bass, Betty Boo and Definition of Sound. After a brief time as a session musician, mainly for Pookah Makes Three, he became the live sound engineer for Harvey and the Wallbangers. As a recording engineer, he worked with a variety of people including Sinitta and Slim Gaillard. Following chart success with Betty Boo and Definition of Sound, he worked as a freelance digital editor, working on radio comedy shows, mainly for BBC Radio 4, working on the Radio 4 comedy shows ''Recorded for Training Purposes'' produced by Adam Bromley, ''About a Dog'' written by Graeme Garden and produced by Jon Naismith, and ''Rudy's Rare Records'', starring Lenny Henry. Slim Gaillard
Bulee "Slim" Gaillard (January 9, 1911 – February 26, 1991), also known as McVouty, was an American jazz singer and songwriter who played piano, guitar, vibraphone, and tenor saxophone. Gaillard was noted for his comedic vocalese singing and word play in his own constructed language called "Vout-o-Reenee", for which he wrote a dictionary. In addition to English, he spoke five languages (Spanish, German, Greek, Arabic, and Armenian) with varying degrees of fluency. He rose to prominence in the late 1930s with hits such as " Flat Foot Floogie (with a Floy Floy)" and "Cement Mixer (Put-Ti-Put-Ti)" after forming Slim and Slam with Leroy Eliot "Slam" Stewart. During World War II, Gaillard served as a bomber pilot in the Pacific. Lenny Henry
Sir Lenworth George Henry (born 29 August 1958) is a British actor, comedian, singer, television presenter and writer. Henry gained success as a stand-up comedian and impressionist in the late 1970s and early 1980s, culminating in '' The Lenny Henry Show'' in 1984. He was the most prominent black British comedian of the time and much of his material served to celebrate and parody his African-Caribbean roots. In 1985, he cofounded the charity Comic Relief with the comedy screenwriter Richard Curtis. ''Rudy's Rare Records'' is a sitcom series created by Lenny Henry, Danny Robins and Dan Tetsell, broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Originally a radio comedy series from 2008–2014, it was later adapted for the stage in 2014. A not-for-broadcast TV pilot was reportedly shot in 2014, but was not developed for broadcast. The plot follows Adam Sharpe, who returns to Birmingham from London after a breakdown, and is forced to move in with his father Rudy Sharpe. They squeeze into the flat above the eponymous Rudy's Rare Records, his dad's shambolic record shop selling reggae, ska and soul. While Adam is anxious and straight-laced, Rudy is exuberant, opinionated and brash. Jon Naismith (born 1965)England and Wales, Birth Index 1916-2005 is a producer mainly known for his work on BBC Radio, primarily comedy, including ''You'll Have Had Your Tea'', '' The Unbelievable Truth'' and '' About a Dog''.
