Adam Rex
Adam Michael Rex (born May 16, 1973) is an American illustrator and author of children's books from Tucson, Arizona. Career Adam Rex received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona. He has contributed illustrations to ''Magic: The Gathering'' and other fantasy art and has illustrated several children's books. Adam has noted that his history with fantasy drawings initially hurt his entry into children's books. His first books, ''Tree-Ring Circus'' and ''Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich'', were published in 2006. ''Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich'' went on to become a ''New York Times'' best seller. Adam received the Jack Gaughan Award for Best Emerging Artist in 2005. George Rex
George Rex (29 August 1765 - 3 April 1839) was a British-born entrepreneur who spent most of his adult life in the Cape Colony, South Africa. He founded the town of Knysna in the Western Cape and played a key role in its development. Rex filled a number of positions in the Cape Colony – including Marshal of the Vice-admiralty Court, notary public to the Governor and advocate for the Crown – before settling on the farm Melkhoutkraal, in the Knysna district. George Rex was the alleged first son of King George III. Jim Rex
Jim Rex (born November 21, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio) was the 16th South Carolina Superintendent of Education. He ran for the position in 2006 as a South Carolina Democratic Party, Democrat, against Karen Floyd, a South Carolina Republican Party, Republican. Rex defeated Floyd by only 455 votes, the closest margin of victory in a statewide election in South Carolina's history. He was sworn in as superintendent on January 10, 2007, replacing fellow Democrat Inez Tenenbaum. In 2014, Rex co-founded a new political party – the American Party of South Carolina. As of 2021, he is the last Democrat to have been popularly elected to a statewide office in South Carolina. John Rex
John Rex (5 March 1925 – 18 December 2011) was a South African-born British sociologist. Born in Port Elizabeth, he was radicalised after working for the South African Bantu Affairs Administration and moved to Britain. He was a lecturer at the universities of Leeds (1949–62) (where he was a leading left-wing activist), Birmingham (1962–64), Durham (1964–70), Warwick (1970–79 and 1984–90), Aston (1979–84), Toronto (1974–75), Cape Town (1991) and New York (1996). Marcus Rex
Marcus Rex, (11 September 1886 – 28 September 1971) was the last British Resident of Perak Education and career Rex's early education was at Highgate School, London, after which he gained a Bachelor of Arts ( BA) degree from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1908. Rex began his service as a Malayan Civil Service cadet in 1910, he was soon promoted to Assistant to the Resident of Perak in 1912 and 1915. Rex also posted as District Officer of Kuala Kangsar in 1913. In 1917, he became the Superintendent of Opium in the State of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang. Rico Rex (born 5 October 1976 in Chemnitz) is a German former pair skater. With former partner Eva-Maria Fitze, he is the 2003 German national champion. Career Rico Rex started figure skating when he was four years old as the result of a talent screening in East Germany. Rex was a single skater until 1993. He then switched to pair skating and teamed up with Silvia Dimitrov, with whom he competed until 1997. They were coached by Monika Scheibe in Chemnitz. Their best international result was 8th at the 1996 European Championships. Dimitrov retired in 1997 due to an injury. Rex then teamed up with Katharina Rybkowski with whom he skated until 2000. Robley Rex
Robley Henry Rex (May 2, 1901 – April 28, 2009) was a World War I-era veteran and was, at the age of 107, one of two remaining U.S. veterans related to the First World War. Rex was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and enlisted in the military in May, 1919, six months after the Armistice date. He was the last Kentucky World War I era veteran, and the last known World War I era veteran of the United States. He served in the Intelligence Unit. He enlisted in the 5th Infantry Division and later served in the 28th Infantry Division. He trained at Camp Zachary Taylor, Kentucky, and Fort Meade, Maryland, before he was deployed to Europe, where there was still a strong military presence, in order to restabilize Europe post-war.
