Kill Devil Hill is an American rock supergroup, founded in 2011 by drummer Vinny Appice (former Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and Dio), bassist Rex Brown (former Pantera and Down), guitarist Mark Zavon (former 40 Cycle Hum), and lead vocalist Dewey Bragg. The band is named after the town of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, a location renowned from pirating days. The band's sound has been described as "heavy and modern without succumbing to typical contemporary hardcore trappings – indecipherable vocals or overused blast beats." History Kill Devil Hill released their self-titled debut album in May 2012. They toured the US with rock band Adrenaline Mob. Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Jeffrey Steven Pilson (born January 19, 1959) is an American musician best known for being the bass player in the glam metal band Dokken and currently classic rock band Foreigner. He has also had an extended stint with Dio in the 1990s. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, cello, keyboards, piano and mellotron. Pilson played fictional heavy metal bassist Jörgen in the 2001 film '' Rock Star'', and voiced Johnny Cage in the 2011 video game ''Mortal Kombat''. Vinny Appice
Vincent Samson Appice (born September 13, 1957) is an American rock drummer best known for his work with the bands Dio, Black Sabbath, and Heaven & Hell. Of Italian descent, he is the younger brother of drummer Carmine Appice. Career Appice took up the drums at the age of nine, taking lessons from the same teacher as his brother Carmine Appice. When he was sixteen, Appice and his band BOMF met John Lennon at Record Plant Studios. Lennon took a liking to the group and used them as a backing band in several performances, including the final one before his death. He moved on to record with Rick Derringer on Derringer (1976), ''Sweet Evil'' (1977), and ''Derringer Live'' (1977), before forming his own band Axis and recording ''It's A Circus World'' (1978). Rex Brown
Rex Robert Brown (born July 27, 1964) is an American musician. He is best known as the bassist for heavy metal band Pantera, from 1982 to their disbandment in 2003. As of their reunion in 2022, he is the band's only constant member. Brown is also a former member of the supergroup Down (2001–2011) and the former bassist for Kill Devil Hill. He released his debut solo album '' Smoke on This…'' in 2017. For the first time in Brown's career, the work features him not only as a bassist but also as lead vocalist and guitarist.
