''Return to Seoul'' (french: Retour à Séoul; original English title: ''All the People I'll Never Be'') is a 2022 drama film written and directed by Davy Chou, and starring Ji-Min Park as a 25-year-old French adoptee who travels to South Korea, seeking her biological parents. ''Return to Seoul'' premiered in the ''Un Certain Regard'' section of the Cannes Film Festival on 22 May 2022. The film was selected as the Cambodian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards, and made the December shortlist. It received critical acclaim. Davy Chou
Davy Chou ( km, ដេវី ជូ; born 13 August 1983) is a Cambodian-French filmmaker. He has written, directed and produced several films. Chou made his feature length debut with '' Diamond Island'' (2016) and made his follow-up with the film '' Return to Seoul'' (2022). Davy Chou founded the production company Vycky Films in 2009, with Jean-Jacky Goldberg and Sylvain Decouvelaere. In addition, Chou has worked to encourage filmmaking in Cambodia, creating a collective in 2009 that is allied with six universities. He helped organize and curate a heritage film festival in Phnom Penh in 2013, the first in Asia. This is a list of submissions to the 95th Academy Awards for the Best International Feature Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The International Feature Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. The category was previously called the Best Foreign Language Film, but this was changed in April 2019 to Best International Feature Film, after the Academy deemed the word "Foreign" to be outdated. The Khmer Rouge (; ; km, ខ្មែរក្រហម, ; ) is the name that was popularly given to members of the Communist Party of Kampuchea (CPK) and by extension to the regime through which the CPK ruled Cambodia between 1975 and 1979.
