Retko Te Viđam Sa Devojkama
"Retko te viđam sa devojkama" ("I Rarely See You With Girls") is the second song which appeared on the first single by Serbian new wave band Idoli (the first being " Pomoć, pomoć"). History The band recorded two songs which would appear as the A-side of the single given as a present with the May release of the "Vidici" magazine. The song did not actually appear as a B-side as both of the songs appeared on the A-side while the B-side contained Slobodan Škerović's narrative poem called "Poklon". The song is widely regarded as the one of the first Yugoslavian, or more precisely, first Serbian song about homosexuality (first one was "Neki dječaci" from Prljavo kazalište in Zagreb, Croatia). The main focal point of the lyrics is a young man who is rarely seen amongst members of the opposite sex. Jugoton was the largest record label and chain record store in the former Yugoslavia based in Zagreb, SR Croatia. History Jugoton was formed in 1947. It is notable for releasing some of the most important former Yugoslav pop and rock records. In addition, the company owned a widespread network of record shops across SFR Yugoslavia. Idoli ( sr-cyr, Идоли; trans. The Idols) were a Serbian new wave band from Belgrade. They are considered to be one of the most notable acts of the Yugoslav rock scene, and their 1982 album ''Odbrana i poslednji dani'' was on several occasions voted by the music critics as the greatest Yugoslav rock album. History Merlin and Zvuk Ulice The roots of Idoli can be found in a band called Merlin (not to be confused with the Sarajevo pop rock band of the same name) and then Zvuk Ulice consisting of Vlada Divljan on guitar and vocals, bassist Zdenko Kolar, keyboard player Dragan Mitrić, drummer Kokan Popović, Bora Antić on saxophone and Dragana Milković on piano and vocals. Katarzyna (Kasia) Nosowska (born 30 August 1971, Szczecin) is the lead singer of the Polish rock band Hey. She is also known for her solo career, which in contrast to Hey's guitar-driven rock delves more into electronica. ''Yugoton'' is a tribute album to the former Yugoslav rock scene released in Poland by ZIC ZAC Music Company and BMG Poland in 2001. It features cover versions of eminent ex-Yugoslav artists performed in Polish by the cover band named Yugoton, composed of several notable Polish musicians. Background The non-aligned SFR Yugoslavia was not an Eastern Bloc member and was largely opened to western influences, compared to the other communist countries. Yugoslavia had a well-developed rock scene, which became very popular in communist Poland, where the freedom of expression was much more restricted. Many Yugoslav artists toured Poland. ''Svi marš na ples!'' (meaning in Serbo-Croatian language: Everybody dance now!) is a compilation album released by Jugoton in 1981 in SFR Yugoslavia. The compilation features various pop and rock artists, mostly from the local new wave scene. At the time of their appearance on this compilation, all of the tracks have already been released on their respective bands' studio albums by the same label. Additionally, all of the bands that appear on it already achieved considerable notability and prominence. Therefore, unlike some previous Jugoton's various artists compilations that tried to affirm and highlight different up-and-coming groups, this one had a strictly commercial character. The compilation's title is a line from the chorus of the ska song "Ha, ha, ha" by Bijelo dugme from their album '' Doživjeti stotu''. Goran Bregović
Goran Bregović (born 22 March 1950) is a recording artist from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is one of the most internationally known modern musicians and composers of the Slavic-speaking countries in the Balkans, and is one of the few former Yugoslav musicians who has performed at major international venues such as Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall and L'Olympia. A Sarajevo native, Bregović started out with Kodeksi and Jutro, but rose to prominence as the main creative mind and lead guitarist of Bijelo Dugme, widely considered one of the most popular and influential recording acts ever to exist in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
