"Resurrection" is a song by Queen's guitarist Brian May from the album ''Back to the Light''. It was released as a fourth single from the album in 1993. Overview The single was released as two different CD versions credited to Brian May with Cozy Powell. It charted at number 23 in the UK. ''Resurrection'' was released as a mini-album in Japan putting together B-sides from the single and adding songs from ''Star Fleet Project'', previously released as B-sides to the "Back to the Light" single. The single was re-released on 16 July 2021 to promote the re-release and remastering of "Back to the Light." Brian May
Brian Harold May (born 19 July 1947) is an English guitarist, singer, songwriter, and astrophysicist, who achieved worldwide fame as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen (band), Queen. May was a co-founder of Queen with lead singer Freddie Mercury and drummer Roger Taylor (Queen drummer), Roger Taylor. His songwriting contributions helped Queen become among the most successful acts in music history. May previously performed with Taylor in the blues rock band Smile (band), Smile, which he had joined while he was at university. After Queen's formation in 1970, bass guitarist John Deacon joined to complete the line-up in 1971. They became one of the biggest rock bands in the world with the success of the album ''A Night at the Opera (Queen album), A Night at the Opera'' and its single "Bohemian Rhapsody". ''The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'' is an American late-night talk show hosted by Jay Leno that first aired from May 25, 1992, to May 29, 2009. It resumed production on March 1, 2010 and ended on February 6, 2014. The fourth incarnation of the ''Tonight Show'' franchise debuted on May 25, 1992, three days after Johnny Carson's retirement as host of the program. The program originated from NBC Studios in Burbank, California, and was broadcast Monday through Friday at 11:35p.m. in the Eastern and Pacific time zones (10:35p.m. Central/Mountain time). Unlike Carson or his predecessor Jack Paar, Leno only once used a guest host, preferring to host the series in person. Star Fleet (song)
"Star Fleet" is the debut solo single by English musician Brian May, the lead guitarist of Queen. It is taken from the end theme of the cult science fiction puppet series '' Star Fleet''. It was also taken from the mini-album ''Star Fleet Project'', which started out as a jam session involving May, Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alan Gratzer, bassist Phil Chen and keyboardist Fred Mandel over the days 21 and 22 April 1983. MusicChain – ''Star Fleet Project'' – Brian May and Friends Aside from the main participants, the title track also included backing vocals by Queen drummer Roger Taylor. Saul Hudson (born July 23, 1965), better known as Slash, is a British-American musician who is best known as the lead guitarist of the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Slash has received critical acclaim and is considered one of the greatest guitarists in history. Born in Hampstead, London, Slash moved to Los Angeles with his father when he was five years old. "Tie Your Mother Down" is a song by the British rock band Queen, written by lead guitarist Brian May. It is the opening track and the second single from their 1976 album '' A Day at the Races''. On its original release as a single in 1977 the song peaked at 31 in the UK Singles Chart. More than 20 years later, it was released as a double a-side to " No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young)" where it reached 13 in UK Singles Chart. On the album the song is preceded by a one-minute instrumental intro featuring a Shepard tone melody, performed by Brian May, which is reprised in the ending of " Teo Torriatte": this was intended to create a "circle" within the album. The Brian May Band
The Brian May Band was an English-American rock band formed by Queen guitarist Brian May for touring in promotion of his studio albums. History The rhythm section for the band were Cozy Powell and Neil Murray, who had previously worked together in Black Sabbath and Whitesnake. Spike Edney, who was the tour keyboardist for Queen between 1984 and 1986 took the keyboard spot. The band was originally formed in October 1991 for May's performance at '' Guitar Legends'' guitar festival in Seville, Spain. The band soon went on a tour of the United States, Europe and Japan. The tour ended in December 1993, when May returned to the studio with fellow Queen bandmates Roger Taylor and John Deacon for Queen's final studio album, ''Made In Heaven''.
