Restoration (EP)
''Restoration'' is an extended play by British progressive metal band Haken, that was released on 27 October 2014 through Inside Out Music. It is the first release of the band to feature bassist Conner Green and the second with producer and mixer Jens Bogren, who did his job at his Fascination Street Studios. Background and recording The EP was announced on 8 September 2014 via Haken's Facebook page. The EP's three tracks are reworked songs from their 2008 demo, ''Enter the 5th Dimension''. Commenting on the option of reworking old tracks, guitarist Charlie Griffiths said: The ending song, "Crystallised"—which is based on the track "Snow", -- is 19 minutes long and features guest performances from guitarist Pete Rinaldi (Headspace) and drummer Mike Portnoy (The Winery Dogs, Flying Colors, ex-Adrenaline Mob, ex-Dream Theater). Haken () are an English progressive metal band formed in 2007 by multi-instrumentalist Richard Henshall, guitarist Matthew Marshall, and vocalist Ross Jennings. While Henshall, Marshall, and Jennings first had the idea of forming Haken in 2004, they opted to pursue their instruments and songwriting first. Upon recruiting other members three years later, they eventually released the demo ''Enter the 5th Dimension'' in 2008, signing with Sensory Records and releasing their first album ''Aquarius'' in 2010. , they have released six studio albums, an EP, and two live albums. Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by John Petrucci, John Myung and Mike Portnoy while they attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Sound recording and reproduction is the electrical, mechanical, electronic, or digital inscription and re-creation of sound waves, such as spoken voice, singing, instrumental music, or sound effects. The two main classes of sound recording technology are analog recording and digital recording. Ross William Jennings (born 7 February 1984) is a British progressive metal singer, most known for being a founder member and the lead vocalist of the bands Haken and Novena. As of 2020, he has released six albums with Haken (''Aquarius, Visions, The Mountain, Affinity, Vector'' and ''Virus''), one with Novena (''Eleventh Hour''), three with Redados (''Too Tired for Sleep, One Way Conversations and Turbo Torture: Train Like Dogs...Ride Like Gods'') and one solo album (''A Shadow of My Future Self'').
