Reston Station
Reston Station is a transit-oriented, mixed-use, urban employment center in the community of Reston in Fairfax County, Virginia. It is being developed through a public-private partnership between Fairfax County and Comstock Partners LC. The development, which provides access to the Wiehle–Reston East Metro station, consists of a subterranean Metro parking facility beneath a public plaza surrounded by office and residential high-rise buildings. The Reston Station underground garage delivered as part of Phase 1 of the Silver Line in July 2014, on the same day that Metro's Silver Line began service. It is the only parking structure and transit-oriented development fully integrated with any of the Phase 1 expansion stations. After the opening of the Metro station, construction commenced on the buildings located on the plaza. In urban planning, transit-oriented development (TOD) is a type of urban development that maximizes the amount of residential, business and leisure space within walking distance of public transport. It promotes a symbiotic relationship between dense, compact urban form and public transport use. State Route 267 (SR 267) is a primary state highway in the US state of Virginia. It consists of two end-to-end toll roads – the Dulles Toll Road and Dulles Greenway – as well as the non-tolled Dulles Access Road, which lies in the median of Dulles Toll Road and then extends east to Falls Church. Wiehle–Reston East Station
Wiehle–Reston East (; preliminary names Wiehle Avenue, Reston–Wiehle Avenue) is a Washington Metro station in Fairfax County, Virginia on the Silver Line. Located in Reston, the station is situated alongside Reston Station, a mixed-use urban center. Upon its opening, Wiehle–Reston East was the western terminus of the Silver Line until November 15, 2022, when service was extended to the new westernmost terminus at Ashburn station.
