Resolver (Cuba)
"Do it yourself" ("DIY") is the method of building, modifying, or repairing things by oneself without the direct aid of professionals or certified experts. Academic research has described DIY as behaviors where "individuals use raw and semi-raw materials and parts to produce, transform, or reconstruct material possessions, including those drawn from the natural environment (e.g., landscaping)". DIY behavior can be triggered by various motivations previously categorized as marketplace motivations (economic benefits, lack of product availability, lack of product quality, need for customization), and identity enhancement ( craftsmanship, empowerment, community seeking, uniqueness). The term "do-it-yourself" has been associated with consumers since at least 1912 primarily in the domain of home improvement and maintenance activities. The phrase "do it yourself" had come into common usage (in standard English) by the 1950s, in reference to the emergence of a trend of people unde ...

Resolver (electrical)
A resolver is a type of rotary electrical transformer used for measuring degrees of rotation. It is considered an analog device, and has digital counterparts such as the digital resolver, rotary (or pulse) encoder. Description The most common type of resolver is the brushless transmitter resolver (other types are described at the end). On the outside, this type of resolver may look like a small electrical motor having a stator and rotor. On the inside, the configuration of the wire windings makes it different. The stator portion of the resolver houses three windings: an exciter winding and two two-phase windings (usually labeled "x" and "y") (case of a brushless resolver). The exciter winding is located on the top; it is a coil of a turning (rotary) transformer. This rotary transformer induces current in the rotor without wires or brushes to provide a direct electrical connection. The two other windings are on the bottom, wound on a lamination. They are configured at 90 degree ...

Resolver (Veruca Salt Album)
''Resolver'' is the third studio album by the American alternative rock band Veruca Salt. It was released on May 16, 2000, on Beyond Records, followed by an Australian release on December 6, 2002. The album was the first for the band after the departure of all the founding members but Louise Post, who became the band's sole frontwoman. Like their previous album, ''Eight Arms to Hold You'', the title is inspired by The Beatles; in this case, a play on the title of their 1966 album ''Revolver''. Production The album was produced by Brian Liesegang. Critical reception The ''Chicago Tribune'' wrote that ''Resolver'' is the album "in which Post and Veruca Salt blow past the years of snide hipster innuendo that somehow they just weren't good enough, a pop concoction cashing in on a trend (female-fronted alternative-rock bands) with a formulaic, bubblegum version of a once-revolutionary sound (the soft-loud dynamics, whispered verses and raging choruses of the Pixies, Nirvana and the ...

Resolver (Shinhwa Album)
''Troubleshooter or Resolver'' ( ko, 해결사; ''Haegyeolsa'') is the debut studio album by South Korean boy band Shinhwa. It was released on May 9, 1998, by SM Entertainment. Background and promotion The group first performed the lead single, "Haegyeolsa" (Resolver) on KM Music Tank. The second single from the album was "Eusha! Eusha!". Because "Eusha! Eusha!" was a lighter song in comparison to "Resolver", which was a dark mood song, it appealed more to the mainstream listener, and climbed up the charts quicker. Shinhwa released their third single, "Sharing Forever", which charted fairly well as well.Because the album was released long ago, it is hard to find information on how well their singles charted or how they stayed at number one. However, various sources mention that the three singles did fairly well and reached number one on various charts. Track listing ''Information is adapted from the liner notes of ''Resolver'':'' Note: E.Mun is short for Eric Mun, Shinhwa's ...

Resolver (DNS)
The Domain Name System (DNS) is a hierarchical and distributed naming system for computers, services, and other resources in the Internet or other Internet Protocol (IP) networks. It associates various information with domain names assigned to each of the associated entities. Most prominently, it translates readily memorized domain names to the numerical IP addresses needed for locating and identifying computer services and devices with the underlying network protocols. The Domain Name System has been an essential component of the functionality of the Internet since 1985. The Domain Name System delegates the responsibility of assigning domain names and mapping those names to Internet resources by designating authoritative name servers for each domain. Network administrators may delegate authority over sub-domains of their allocated name space to other name servers. This mechanism provides distributed and fault-tolerant service and was designed to avoid a single large central da ...
