Resil Mojares
Resil Buagas Mojares (born September 4, 1943) is a Filipino historian and critic of Philippine literature best known as for his books on Philippine history. He is acclaimed by various writers and critics as the ''Visayan Titan of Letters'', due to his immense contribution to Visayan literature. He was recognized in 2018 as a National Artist of the Philippines for Literature - a conferment which represents the Philippine state's highest recognition for artists. Early life and education Mojares was born to parents who were public school teachers on September 4, 1943 in Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte. Mojares has a bachelor's degree in English, a master's degree in Literature and postgraduate studies all at the University of San Carlos, as well as a Ph.D. in Literature from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Carlos Quirino
Carlos Lozada Quirino (14 January 1910 – 20 May 1999) was a Philippine biographer and historian. Not only known for his works on biographies and history but also on varied subjects such as the old maps of the Philippines and also the culinary legacy of the country. Life Carlos Quirino is a nephew of Philippine president Elpidio Quirino. He is a famous Filipino historian and biographer at his time, receiving his journalism degree in 1931 from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Rubilen "Bingkay" Amit (born October 3, 1981) is a Filipino female professional pocket billiards (pool) player. Amit is the first Filipino woman to become a world pool champion. Biography Rubilen Amit was born in Mandaue, Cebu. Amit began playing during her teens, often tagging along with her father Bobby at the Super Bowl in Makati. In college, she studied accountancy at the University of Santo Tomas. She participated in and won the 2000 and 2001 College of Commerce and Business Administration's billiards tournaments. After graduating in 2004, Amit worked as a call center agent for a year. In 2005, she was accepted to the Philippine pool national team. Max Surban
Max Surban (born Maximo Surban, May 15, 1939) is a Filipino singer in mainly in Cebuano language. He has been given the moniker "King of Visayan Song". Although known primarily for his singing of novelty songs, he has also recorded romantic ballads. Like his fellow Visayan, the Bol-anon singer Yoyoy Villame, Max Surban has also become famous for his singing of so-called ''novelty songs''. On several occasions, both Yoyoy Villame and Max Surban have appeared together on stage and even recorded together with a few albums.
