''Resiklo'' () is a 2007 Philippine post-apocalyptic sci-fi film written and directed by Mark A. Reyes and starring Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr., Dingdong Dantes, and Jennylyn Mercado. It is the entry of Revilla's outfit, Imus Productions, to the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival. Premise Set in December 2021, ''Resiklo'' is the story of Crisval Sarmiento, an ex-military Colonel who leads a rag-tag group of survivors in the Philippines against the insect-like alien invaders known as the ''Balangs'' (locusts). "Because of the enormous expenditures in resources during the invasion (hinted in the movie's opening credits), the humans are forced to scavenge the destroyed landscape for anything that could be recycled and put to use at their secret sanctuary, called ''Paraiso'' (Paradise). 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival
The 33rd annual 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival ran from December 25, 2007 to January 7, 2008. Maricel Soriano, Jinggoy Estrada and the movie, '' Resiklo'' topped the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival. Soriano and Estrada took home the Best Actress and Best Actor awards for their performances in the films '' Bahay Kubo: A Pinoy Mano Po!'' and ''Katas ng Saudi'' respectively. Ramon Bautista Bong Revilla Jr. (; born Jose Mari Bautista; September 25, 1966) and commonly known as Bong Revilla, is a Filipino actor, television presenter and politician serving as a Senator since 2019, and previously from 2004 to 2016. The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival held in Metro Manila, Philippines. The festival, which runs from December 25 (Christmas) through New Year's Day and into first weekend of January in the following year, focuses on Filipino films.
