The record was originally released in 2008, but due to the original album being mastered improperly, it was remixed and re-released with two extra tracks in 2010 on Fat Wreck Chords. Banner Pilot is a Punk rock, punk band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Their music is influenced by acts such as Jawbreaker (band), Jawbreaker, The Lawrence Arms, Screeching Weasel, and Hot Water Music. History The band was formed by Nate Gangelhoff and Nick Johnson in 2005 following the dissolution of their previous band, Rivethead. The two self-released a demo the same year, garnering positive reviews from both Punknews and Razorcake. The following year they released the EP ''Pass the Poison'' and toured the East Coast, drawing the attention of Go-Kart Records. In late 2007 and early 2008, the band recorded their Go-Kart Records debut full length, ''Resignation Day''. Mike left the band to return to school and Corey was recruited as a replacement for their summer West Coast tour. In April, 2009, Banner Pilot was signed to Fat Wreck Chords. Go-Kart Records
Go-Kart Records is an independent record label specializing in punk rock located in New York City that was most active from 1995 to 2005. It also has a European division in Mannheim, Germany. History In its May 1999 issue, ''Guitar World'' magazine listed Go-Kart as one of the "twelve most influential forces in punk rock today" along with Epitaph Records, Ian MacKaye, Jello Biafra and NOFX. In 2003 the label released the first commercially available MP3 CdD entitled the "Go-kart MP300 Raceway." All-music called the release a, "revolution in a jewel case." It contained 300 songs from 150 bands and included an MP3 player and instructions on how to burn the songs to CD. In 2004, the company opened an office in Los Angeles and started an offshoot division to release independent films under the moniker Go-kart Films. The Los Angeles office closed in 2008. ''The Subterraneans'' is a 1958 novella by Beat Generation author Jack Kerouac. It is a semi-fictional account of his short romance with Alene Lee (1931–1991), an African-American woman, in Greenwich Village, New York. It was the first work of Kerouac’s to be released following the success of ''On the Road''. ''The Subterraneans'' and its following novel,''The Dharma Bums'', both proved to be popular when released in 1958, and are now seen as important works of the Beat Literature. A Hollywood film adaptation would be released in 1960. Background Kerouac met Alene in the late summer of 1953 when she was typing up the manuscripts of William Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg, in Ginsberg's Lower East Side apartment. In the novella, Kerouac moved the story from New York City to San Francisco and renamed Alene Lee "Mardou Fox". A go-kart, also written as go-cart (often referred to as simply a kart), is a type of sports car, close wheeled car, open-wheel car or quadracycle. Go-karts come in all shapes and forms, from non-motorised models to high-performance racing karts. Karting is a type of racing in which a compact four-wheel unit called a go-kart is used. In the beginning, Art Ingels invented the first go-kart in Los Angeles in 1956. Etymology The exact origin of the term is unclear.
