Reset (Panda Bear And Sonic Boom Album)
''Reset'' is an album by Panda Bear and Sonic Boom (the respective stage names of Noah Lennox and Peter Kember). It marks the duo's first collaborative album; Kember had previously co-produced Lennox's ''Tomboy'' (2011) and ''Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper'' (2015). Composition Much of the album is built on a bedrock of sampled loops taken from the intros of various 1950s and 1960s pop songs, with Panda Bear and Sonic Boom sharing vocal duties on top of these. Release The album was released on August 12, 2022, through Domino Recording Company. Reception In a positive review for ''Pitchfork'', Daniel Felsenthal wrote that the album was "the most pleasurable release" of both Lennox and Kember's career. Panda Bear (musician)
Noah Benjamin Lennox (born July 17, 1978), also known by his moniker Panda Bear, is an American musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and co-founding member of the band Animal Collective. In addition to his work with that group, Lennox has released six solo LPs since 1999, with his influential 2007 album ''Person Pitch'' inspiring numerous subsequent acts. His subsequent albums ''Tomboy'' (2011) and '' Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper'' (2015) both reached the ''Billboard'' 200. Lennox was primarily raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where he sang tenor in his high school chamber choir, and studied piano and cello. The name "Panda Bear" derived from his habit of drawing pandas on his early mixtapes as a teenager. He and the other members of Animal Collective began collaborating in the late 1990s. The Troggs
The Troggs (originally called the Troglodytes) are an English garage rock band formed in Andover, Hampshire in May 1964. Their most famous songs include the US chart-topper " Wild Thing", " With a Girl Like You" and " Love Is All Around", all of which sold over 1 million copies and were awarded gold discs. "Give It to Me" is a song by English rock band the Troggs, released as a single in February 1967. In the UK, it peaked just outside the top ten, ending their run of consecutive top-ten hits. Background and release "Give It to Me" was written by lead vocalist Reg Presley and was released as the Troggs' sixth single. It was written and recorded in only three days. A specially tailored version of the song was featured in the 1966 Michelangelo Antonioni film ''Blowup''. Like in the UK, where "Give It to Me" only peaked at number 12 on the ''Record Retailer'' chart, it did not chart as highly in the rest of Europe compared to the Troggs' previous singles. "Three Steps to Heaven" is a song co-written and recorded by Eddie Cochran, released in 1960. The record topped the charts in the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom posthumously for Cochran following his death in a car accident in April 1960. In the US it did not reach the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. "Three Steps To Heaven" was recorded in January 1960 and featured Buddy Holly's Crickets on instruments. David Holmes (musician)
David Holmes (born 25 February 1969) is a Northern Irish musician and composer. He worked as a DJ before releasing several solo albums that have incorporated elements of trip hop, big beat, electronic and rock. In the late 1990s, he also began composing film scores, establishing a long-standing collaboration with director Steven Soderbergh that includes ''Out of Sight'' (1998) and the ''Ocean's'' trilogy. Holmes is currently a member of the band Unloved, whose music has been used extensively in the television series '' Killing Eve'', for which Holmes is also a composer. Mortimer Shuman (12 November 1938 – 2 November 1991) was an American singer, pianist and songwriter, best known as co-writer of many 1960s rock and roll hits, including "Viva Las Vegas". He also wrote and sang many songs in French, such as "Le Lac Majeur", "Papa-Tango-Charly", "Sha Mi Sha", "Un Été de Porcelaine", and "Brooklyn by the Sea" which became hits in France. Jerome Solon Felder (June 27, 1925 – March 14, 1991), known professionally as Doc Pomus, was an American blues singer and songwriter. He is best known as the co-writer of many rock and roll hits. Pomus was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer in 1992, the Songwriters Hall of Fame (1992), and the Blues Hall of Fame (2012). Reginald Maurice Ball (12 June 1941 – 4 February 2013), known professionally as Reg Presley, was an English singer and songwriter. He was the lead singer with the 1960s rock and roll band the Troggs, whose hits included " Wild Thing" (#1 on the Hot 100 on 30 July – 6 August 1966) and " With a Girl Like You" (#1 on the UK Official Singles Chart on 4–11 August 1966). Eddie Cochran
Ray Edward Cochran (; October 3, 1938 – April 17, 1960) was an American rock and roll musician. Cochran's songs, such as " Twenty Flight Rock", "Summertime Blues", " C'mon Everybody" and " Somethin' Else", captured teenage frustration and desire in the mid-1950s and early 1960s. He experimented with multitrack recording, distortion techniques, and overdubbing even on his earliest singles. He played the guitar, piano, bass, and drums. Peter Kember
Peter Kember (born 19 November 1965), also known by his stage name Sonic Boom, is an English singer and record producer. He was a founding member, vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist of alternative rock band Spacemen 3, lasting from 1982 until the band's dissolution in 1991. He is now based in Sintra, Portugal. He provided the production on MGMT's second album '' Congratulations,'' Panda Bear's albums ''Tomboy'' and '' Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper'', and Beach House's album '' 7''.
