Repulsive Conception
Broken Hope is an American death metal band from Chicago, Illinois. History Broken Hope was founded in 1988. They were known as an accomplished mid-paced style death metal band with low-pitched growling vocals. As a band, they were active for roughly twelve years, recording five albums between 1991 and 1999. The early lineup of Broken Hope was Joe Ptacek ( vocals), Jeremy Wagner (rhythm guitar), Brian Griffin (lead guitar), and Ryan Stanek (drums). They scored a deal with the then-fledgling Grindcore/RedLight Label and recorded their debut album, ''Swamped in Gore''. AllMusic reviewer John Book compared ''Swamped in Gore'' to Death's 1987 debut album '' Scream Bloody Gore''. Following the release of ''Swamped in Gore'', Metal Blade Records signed the band, who released their second album, ''The Bowels of Repugnance'', in 1993. Jungle Rot is an American death metal band from Kenosha, Wisconsin, formed in 1992. History Jungle Rot was founded in 1992 as a side project by Jim Harte and Joe Thomas, members of the Illinois thrash metal act, Prisoner. The band's name refers to Tropical ulcer, jungle rot, an infection of the skin that occurs in tropical climates. The band recorded their first demo ''Rip Off Your Face'', a fun offering of immature death metal heavily influenced by the likes of Stormtroopers of Death, S.O.D. and Celtic Frost. Then, they acquired Kenosha-based guitarist Dave Matrise (Num Skull, Nocturnal, Fatal Violence) in 1993. It was not until 1994 when Matrise took over that the band got serious and started to take off. Decrepit Birth is an American death metal band from Santa Cruz, California. They have released two studio albums through Unique Leader Records and two through Nuclear Blast, and a demo independently. All of their studio albums feature artwork by renowned fantasy artist Dan Seagrave. In October 2021, it was announced vocalist Bill Robinson was taking an "extended hiatus" from the band and was being replaced by Mac Smith, who would tour with the band for the foreseeable future. Obituary is an American death metal band formed in Tampa, Florida in 1984. They were a fundamental act in the development of death metal music, and are one of the most successful death metal bands of all time. To date, Obituary has released ten studio albums, and with the exception of their 1997–2003 split, they continue to perform live around the world. Initially called Executioner, the band changed its name to Xecutioner in 1986 to avoid confusion with the thrash metal band Executioner from Boston, and then changed its name once again to Obituary in 1988. Obituary's current lineup consists of vocalist John Tardy, drummer Donald Tardy, rhythm guitarist Trevor Peres, bassist Terry Butler, and lead guitarist Ken Andrews.
