Iain Cuthbertson
Iain Cuthbertson (4 January 1930 – 4 September 2009) was a Scottish character actor and theatre director. He was known for his tall imposing build and also his distinctive gravelly, heavily accented voice. He had lead roles in ''The Borderers'' (1968–70),''Tom Brown's Schooldays'' (1971), '' Budgie'' (1971–72), its spinoff ''Charles Endell Esquire'' (1979–80), ''Danger UXB'' (1979) and ''Sutherland's Law'' (1973–76), as well as the films ''The Railway Children (1970 film), The Railway Children'' (1970), and ''Gorillas in the Mist'' (1988). Stephen Lewis (actor)
Stephen Lewis (17 December 1926 – 12 August 2015), credited early in his career as Stephen Cato, was an English actor, comedian, director, screenwriter and playwright. He is best known for his roles as Inspector Cyril "Blakey" Blake in ''On the Buses'', Clem "Smiler" Hemmingway in ''Last of the Summer Wine'' and Harry Lambert in ''Oh, Doctor Beeching!'', although he also appeared in numerous stage and film roles. Early life Lewis was born at All Saints Maternity Hospital in Poplar, London, England. He worked as a bricklayer, electrician's mate and carpenter, and also joined the Merchant Navy, before turning to acting. He was persuaded to go to a performance by the Theatre Workshop, under its director Joan Littlewood. It was common, after these performances, to invite members of the audience to meet the cast. Patsy Rowlands
Patricia Amy Rowlands (19 January 1931 – 22 January 2005) was an English actress who is best remembered for her roles in the ''Carry On'' films series, as Betty Lewis in the ITV Thames sitcom '' Bless This House'', and as Alice Meredith in the Yorkshire Television sitcom '' Hallelujah!''. Early years She was born in Palmers Green, London and attended the Sacred Heart convent school at Whetstone. While attending, an elocution teacher spotted her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in acting. She applied for the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and won a scholarship aged fifteen. Early career Rowlands began her career in the chorus of '' Annie Get Your Gun'', followed by a summer season in Torquay. John Fraser (actor)
John Alexander Fraser (18 March 1931 – 6 November 2020) was a Scottish actor and author. He is best known for his performances in the films '' The Dam Busters'' (1955), ''The Good Companions'' (1957), ''The Trials of Oscar Wilde'' (1960), '' El Cid'' (1961), '' Repulsion'' (1965) and ''Isadora'' (1968). Career One of his earliest roles was as Inigo Jollifant in the second film version of J.B. Priestley's ''The Good Companions'' (1957). ITV Granada, formerly known as Granada Television, is the ITV franchisee for the North West of England and Isle of Man. From 1956 to 1968 it broadcast to both the north west and Yorkshire but only on weekdays as ABC Weekend Television was its weekend counterpart.
