Renzo Gracie Academy
Renzo Gracie Academy is a martial arts school headed by Renzo Gracie, located in Midtown Manhattan. Overview Renzo Gracie founded the academy in 1996. It was originally above a methadone clinic before it moved to its current location at 224 West 30th Street. It was one of the camps participating in the International Fight League. Coached by Gracie, it took the place of the New York Pitbulls who were the 2007 IFL champions. The camp was established in 2008 when the IFL switched to a more camp based system than a team based system. Renzo Gracie (; born March 11, 1967) is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. A member of the Gracie family of Brazil, Renzo is a 7th Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Carlos Gracie Jr. He is the son of Robson Gracie, grandson of Carlos Gracie, nephew of Carlos Gracie, Jr. grandnephew of Helio Gracie, and the 1st cousin once removed of Royce Gracie. Jim Miller (born August 30, 1983) is an American mixed martial artist, who currently competes in the UFC lightweight division. He currently holds the record of most bouts in UFC history, most wins in UFC history and most wins in the UFC lightweight division. He is also the younger brother of former UFC fighter Dan Miller. Early life Born and raised in Sparta Township, New Jersey and the youngest of three brothers, Miller started wrestling at the age of four. Fábio Leopoldo Silva (born April 17, 1977 in São Paulo) is a former Brazilian mixed martial artist and is currently an active Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and instructor.
