Rens Bod
Rens Bod (born 1965, Bergh) is a professor in digital humanities and history of humanities at the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on the exploration of patterns and underlying principles in language, music, art, literature and history. He also investigates the history of pattern searching in the humanities from a supranational perspective, thereby giving an impulse to the new field of "history of the humanities". Education and research Rens Bod studied physics and astronomy at Utrecht University followed by Letters at the Sapienza University of Rome. In 1995 he obtained a PhD in computational linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. In 2005, he became full professor in Computer Science at the University of St Andrews, after which he was appointed full professor at the University of Amsterdam. Bergh is a former municipality in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The municipality included the villages of 's-Heerenberg, Zeddam, and Stokkum. Digital Humanities
Digital humanities (DH) is an area of scholarly activity at the intersection of computing or Information technology, digital technologies and the disciplines of the humanities. It includes the systematic use of digital resources in the humanities, as well as the analysis of their application. DH can be defined as new ways of doing scholarship that involve collaborative, transdisciplinary, and computationally engaged research, teaching, and publishing. It brings digital tools and methods to the study of the humanities with the recognition that the printed word is no longer the main medium for knowledge production and distribution. By producing and using new applications and techniques, DH makes new kinds of teaching possible, while at the same time studying and critiquing how these impact cultural heritage and digital culture. Ghent University
Ghent University ( nl, Universiteit Gent, abbreviated as UGent) is a public research university located in Ghent, Belgium. Remco Erik Breuker (born 1972) is a Dutch historian, author, academic, and translator specializing in Korea and Northeast Asia, focusing on medieval Korean and Northeast Asian history and contemporary North Korean affairs. Ingrid Robeyns
Ingrid A.M. Robeyns (born 1972) holds the Chair Ethics of Institutions at Utrecht University, Faculty of Humanities and the associated Ethics Institute. Robeyns is also a Fellow of the Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA) and was elected the associations eighth president in April 2017. She is a notable advocate of economic limitarianism (ethical). Biography Robeyns is from Leuven, Belgium. She earned a Belgian licentiate qualification in economics from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) in 1994.
