Henry Waugh Renny-Tailyour (9 October 1849 – 15 June 1920) was a British amateur all-round sportsman who appeared for Scotland in some of the earliest international football and rugby union matches, remaining to this day the only player to have represented the country in both codes. He also played first class cricket for Kent County Cricket Club and was an accomplished athlete. Biography Renny-Tailyour was born at Mussoorie, North-Western Provinces (now in Uttarakhand) in what was then British India, while his Scottish father was serving in the army there. Renny Piers Smith (born 3 October 1996) is an English-born Austrian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Oxford City. He has also represented Austria internationally at under-18 and under-19 level. Career Smith was born in Epsom, Surrey, and attended the Whitgift School in South Croydon. He started his career in the youth team at Chelsea where he stayed until early 2013, before he made the decision to leave following a difference in opinion over his playing position. Major General George Alexander Renny VC (12 May 1825 – 5 January 1887) was a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Early life Renny was the son of a British merchant settled at Riga on the Baltic Sea. After moving to Scotland as a boy, he was educated at Montrose Academy and Addiscombe Military Seminary. In June 1844 Renny was commissioned second lieutenant in the Bengal Horse Artillery, taking part in the First Sikh War, including the battle of Sobraon on 10 February 1846. In 1849 he married Flora Hastings MacWhirter, the daughter of Dr John MacWhirter, late President of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. They had three sons and three daughters. Renaldo José Ottolina Pinto (December 11, 1928 – March 16, 1978) was a Venezuelan producer and entertainer. Born in Valencia, Carabobo, he performed professionally under the name Renny Ottolina. Early life His mother Ana Mercedes Pinto died when he was two years old. At the age of six his father (an Italian immigrant) moved him to Caracas with his paternal grandmother. Renny went to different high schools and after he graduate it he knew what he want it and was a fast learner and he was mostly self-taught. Renny Vicente Vega Hernández (, born 4 July 1979) is a Venezuelan former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Walter Renny
Walter Renny (died 24 June 1878) was an English settler in colonial Australia who served as mayor of Sydney from 1869 to 1870. He was a painter and decorator by profession. Biography Born and raised in England, he was the son and namesake of Walter Renny. Details of his birth date have not been determined. He emigrated to the colony of New South Wales in 1853. He married Mary Ann White in Balmain, Sydney, in 1857. He operated an oil, colour, glass and paper-hanging warehouse. Renny was an alderman for the City of Sydney from 1863 to 1865, and again from 1866 to 1870, serving as mayor in 1869–70. He moved to Victoria during the mid-1870s. He died at his mother's residence in Forest Gate, Essex, on 24 June 1878 aged 49. Probate in his will was granted in 1879, leaving most of his estate to his widow and mother for their lives, and to several Sydney charities on their deaths. General Henry Renny (1815–1900) was a British Army officer who was the 24th General Officer Commanding, Ceylon. He was appointed General Officer Commanding, Ceylon in 1869 and succeeded by John Alfred Street in 1874. Career Born 9 September 1815, Henry Renny was the second surviving son of Alexander Renny-Tailyour of Borrowfield and Elizabeth Bannerman Ramsay. He entered the army as Ensign in 1833.
