Renewed Caledonian Union
The Renewed Caledonian Union (, UC-R) is a political party in New Caledonia formed by dissidents from the Caledonian Union. It is a member of the National Union for Independence (UNI) coalition, which is in turn a member of the Kanak and Socialist National Liberation Front (FLNKS). National Union For Independence
The National Union for Independence (french: Union nationale pour l'indépendance, UNI) is a militant Socialism, socialist Secession, pro-independence alliance of political parties in New Caledonia. It is a component of the Kanak Socialist National Liberation Front (FLNKS) along with the Caledonian Union. Loyalty Islands

2009 New Caledonian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in New Caledonia on 10 May 2009. Voters elected 76 members of the three provincial assemblies, of whom 54 were also to become members of the territorial Congress of New Caledonia, Congress. The Labour Party (New Caledonia), Labour Party, which had been founded in 2007 as the political arm of the pro-independence Union of Kanaky Workers and the Exploited, contested the elections for the first time and hoped to gain 12,000 votes and a seat. The Kanak and Socialist National Liberation Front (french: Front de Libération Nationale Kanak et Socialiste, FLNKS) is a pro-independence alliance of political parties in New Caledonia.
