Renato Vernizzi
Renato Vernizzi (1 July 1904 – 18 January 1972) was an Italian painter. Biography Vernizzi was born in Parma, Italy. He enrolled at the Parma Academy of Fine Arts in 1922. Having moved to Milan in 1927, he came into contact with the painting of the Novecento Italiano group, which he soon abandoned in favour of Chiarismo. Participation in the Settimana dell’Arte exhibition organised by the newspaper '' L'Ambrosiano'' in 1934 brought him to the attention of critics and opened a period of success that reached its climax with the 20th Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte della Città di Venezia in 1936. A work exhibited at the Seconda Provinciale del Sindacato Fascista di Belle Arti was bought by the Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Milan, in 1940 and the artist was awarded the Bergamo Prize in 1941. He focused on portraits and works of an intimist nature after World War II and joined the Cenacolo di Via Bagutta. He started teaching at the Parma Institute of Art in 1955. References * ... L'Ambrosiano
''L'Ambrosiano'' was a daily newspaper published in Milan from 1922 to January 1944. History Founded by the futurist Umberto Notari, it was aimed at the Milanese middle class. The first issue of the newspaper came out on 7 December 1922. The newspaper was noticeable because the masthead was printed in red. In 1925 Notari was forced to sell the majority of the shares to a financial group headed by Riccardo Gualino. From that moment ''L'Ambrosiano'' became a daily newspaper of the regime. An afternoon newspaper, it adopted innovative graphics for the time. The newspaper introduced several innovations, both in content and layout. On the third page, usually a serious space reserved for '' elzeviri'' and pieces of art, monothematic pages appeared on ''L'Ambrosiano'', dedicated from time to time to literature, music, art and sport. Fondazione Cariplo is a charitable foundation in Milan, Italy. It was created in December 1991 when the Amato law, Law no. 218 of 30 July 1990, came into force. Under this law, saving banks were required to separate into a not-for-profit foundation and a commercial banking arm. The Cassa di Risparmio delle Provincie Lombarde, commonly known as Cariplo, was divided into the Fondazione Cariplo and Cariplo SpA, the bank, which merged with Ambroveneto in 1998. As at 31 December 2014, the organisation had a shareholders equity of €6,889,487,562.
