Ren Zhongyi
Ren Zhongyi (; September 1914 – November 15, 2005) was a Chinese politician. Biography Ren was born in Wei County, Handan, Hebei province. He was a leader in China's reform period since the late 1970s. He is widely regarded as the bold reformer who led Guangdong to come 'one step ahead' in China's reform. He served as the First Communist Party secretary of Harbin, Heilongjiang (1956–1977), the First Party Secretary of Liaoning province (1977–1980), and the First Party Secretary of Guangdong (1980–1985). After he retired, Ren Zhongyi remained active in public affairs and was bold and outspoken. He was amongst a few influential people in China who still publicly advocated political reform. Rén is the Mandarin pinyin romanisation of the Chinese surname written in Chinese character. It is romanised as Jen in Wade–Giles, and Yam or Yum in Cantonese. Ren Yi (Chinese Writer)
Ren Yi (; 1840–1896), also known as Ren Bonian, was a painter and son of a rice merchant who supplemented his income by doing portraits. He was born in Zhejiang, but after the death of his father in 1855 he lived in Shanghai. This move placed him in a more urban world that was exposed to Western thinking. In Shanghai he became a member of the Shanghai School which fused popular and traditional styles. Lin Ruo
Lin Ruo (; July 19, 1924 – October 7, 2012) was a Chinese politician who served as Party Committee Secretary of Guangdong Province. Biography Lin was a native of Chao'an District, Chaozhou City, Guangdong. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in May 1945. In July 1945, he enrolled in the Sun Yat-sen University School of Literature. In 1947, he traveled to the Dong River guerilla warfare region to provide political guidance. In March 1950, he was named the head of the CCP Guangdong Pearl River Local Committee Policy Research Office Group, as well as local positions in Zhongshan and Dongguan. In 1952, he was named party committee secretary of Dongguan. Lin was attacked during the Cultural Revolution. Xi Zhongxun
Xi Zhongxun (15 October 1913 – 24 May 2002) was a Chinese communist revolutionary and a subsequent political official in the People's Republic of China. He is considered to be among the first and second generation of Chinese leadership. The contributions he made to the Chinese communist revolution and the development of the People's Republic, from the founding of Communist guerrilla bases in northwestern China in the 1930s to initiation of economic liberalization in southern China in the 1980s, are numerous and broad. The politics of Liaoning Province in the People's Republic of China is structured in a single party-government system like all other governing institutions in mainland China. Chen Puru
Chen Puru () (March 1918 – December 11, 1998) was a politician of the People's Republic of China. Born in Boxing, Shandong, Chen joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in October 1937. In January 1980, Chen became the governor of Liaoning Province. From April 1982 to April 1985, Chen served as the Ministry of Railways of the People's Republic of China, Minister of Railways of China. Chen was a member of 11th and 12th Central Committees of the Communist Party of China, and a member of 13th Central Advisory Committee of CPC.
