Remixes is a compilation of remixes by the French DJ SebastiAn. Featuring remixes made from 2005 to 2008, it was released on September 22, 2008 as a CD, a vinyl record, and digital download. The CD version is edited in gatefold format, inserted in a red translucent plastic sleeve. The image depicts the drawing of the features of the artist's face in black. When the red sleeve is removed, it then reveals the real papercard cover, which, in addition to the face, features several drawings and commentaries about the album, written in red (and therefore not visible through the sleeve). Sebastian (French Musician)
Sébastien Akchoté-Bozović (born 3 February 1981), known mononymously as Sebastian (stylised as SebastiAn), is a French musician, composer, producer, mixer, engineer, vocalist and DJ affiliated with Ed Banger Records. He has worked as a solo electronic musician and as a remixer for bands and singers such as Charlotte Gainsbourg, Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, Bloc Party, and Nero. He has also composed and produced songs for Charlotte Gainsbourg, Katerine, Juliette Armanet, Kavinsky, Frank Ocean, Uffie and Woodkid, and he has composed soundtracks for the films ''Our Day Will Come'', '' The World Is Yours'' and ''Steak'' (in which he also acted, credited under the name Sebastian Akchoté). "Bossy" is a song by American R&B singer Kelis featuring American rapper Too Short. The song features a Roland 808 drum machine and interpolates " Diamonds on My Neck" by Smitty, which in turns uses a sample of "Dangerous MC's" by The Notorious B.I.G. "Bossy" was released in the United States in April 2006 as the lead single from Kelis' fourth studio album, ''Kelis Was Here'' (2006). "Tous ces mots" is a song recorded by the France-born singer Nâdiya accompanied by the English rapper Smartzee. The song was released as the first single from Nâdiya's self-titled third studio album ''Nâdiya (album), Nâdiya'' on February 24, 2006 (see 2006 in music) in France and Switzerland. Music video The song features Smartzee, a rapper who was also featured in her "Et c'est parti..." song and music video. Nâdiya
Nâdiya (born Nadia Zighem on June 19, 1973) is a French R&B singer. Early life Nâdiya was born in the city of Tours, France. At school she displayed a talent for athletics, and gravitated towards the sport-studies section. In 1989, she won the title of Junior Champion of France's 800 metres. 2001–2005: Early commercial success The single "J'ai confiance en toi" (''I Trust You''), released in February 2001, became the first single that charted in the French Singles Chart, peaked at No. 38 in France and stayed in the chart for 13 weeks. Annie (Norwegian Singer)
Anne Lilia Berge Strand (born 21 November 1977), known professionally as Annie, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ. She began her recording career in 1999 with the underground hit single " The Greatest Hit" and gained international acclaim, particularly from music bloggers, for her debut album ''Anniemal'' (2004). After completing secondary school, Annie started DJing in Bergen, where she met house producer and soon-to-be boyfriend Tore Kroknes. In 1999, Annie and Kroknes released the single "The Greatest Hit", which sold out in two days and became popular in Norwegian and British nightclubs. Before Annie and Kroknes could release an album, Kroknes died from a congenital heart defect in 2001. "Golden Skans" is a song released by London band Klaxons on 22 January 2007, taken from their first album '' Myths of the Near Future'', which was released on 29 January 2007. The song reached number 16 in the UK Singles Chart on download sales on 14 January (two weeks before the release of the CD) and climbed to number 14 the next week, eventually reaching number seven after the CD release. Klaxons
Klaxons were an English rock band, based in London. Following the release of several 7-inch singles on different independent record labels, as well as the success of previous singles " Magick" and " Golden Skans", the band released their debut album, '' Myths of the Near Future'' on 29 January 2007. The album won the 2007 Nationwide Mercury Prize. Sébastien Tellier (; born 22 February 1975) is a French singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with his song "Divine". "I Still Remember" is a song by English rock band Bloc Party. It was released as a single from their second studio album, ''A Weekend in the City''., being the first U.S. single and second UK single from the album. Bloc Party
Bloc Party are an English Rock music, rock band, composed of Kele Okereke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, sampler), Russell Lissack (lead guitar, keyboards), Justin Harris (bass guitar, keyboards, saxophones, backing vocals) and Louise Bartle (drums, percussion). Former members Matt Tong and Gordon Moakes left the band in 2013 and 2015 respectively. Their brand of music, whilst rooted in rock, retains elements of other genres such as electronica and house music. The band was formed at the 1999 Reading and Leeds Festivals, Reading Festival by Okereke and Lissack. They went through a variety of names before settling on Bloc Party in 2003.
