''Remembering White Lion'' is an album by White Lion featuring new re-recorded versions of their classic songs from previous studio albums, including the band's biggest three hits: "When the Children Cry", "Wait", and "Little Fighter". Background Following three albums as the lead singer of the hard rock band Freak of Nature, Mike Tramp started a solo career releasing his debut album '' Capricorn'' in 1998 and also reformed White Lion with all new musicians. The original members left the band following the last White Lion studio album '' Mane Attraction'' in 1991 and had no interest in reforming the original band. To avoid legal issues with former members, the band was known as Tramp's White Lion when this album was re-released in 2004 under the title ''Last Roar''. White Lion
The white lion is a rare color mutation of the lion, specifically the Southern African lion. White lions in the area of Timbavati are thought to have been indigenous to the Timbavati region of South Africa for centuries, although the earliest recorded sighting in this region was in 1938. White lions first became known to the English-speaking world in 1977 through the book ''The White Lions of Timbavati''. Description White lions are not albinos. Their white color is caused by a recessive trait, called leucism, derived from a less-severe mutation in the same gene that causes albinism, similar to the gene responsible for white tigers. They vary from blonde to near-white. This coloration does not appear to pose a disadvantage to their survival. Freak Of Nature (band)
Freak of Nature was an American hard rock band, formed in 1992 by former White Lion lead singer Mike Tramp. The band was formed after White Lion broke up and the follow up was significantly darker and harder than White Lion. The band released three albums and then disbanded in 1996. Following Freak of Nature, Mike Tramp released several solo albums and also reformed White Lion with a new line up. Band history Formation In September 1991, just days after White Lion played their last gig, Mike Tramp met up with long-time friend Oliver Steffensen who was an original member of the pre White Lion band "Danish Lions". The pair spent weeks in Tramp's house in Santa Monica, California, resulting in several songs which were later released under the moniker "Mike and Oliver". The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. Fight To Survive
''Fight to Survive'' is the debut album by the American-Danish glam metal band White Lion, released by Victor Records in Japan in 1985. The album charted at number 151 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Background The band was signed to Elektra Records, which shelved the album with no intention of publishing it in the USA. Philadelphia-based Grand Slamm Records bought the album from Elektra and released it in America the following year. Tramp has noted that once White Lion was dropped by Elektra Records, their manager managed to get the right to license the album and release it in Japan. The album actually broke in Europe before it did in the USA thanks to magazines covering the band. Tramp is very proud of songs like "All the Fallen Men" and "Kid of 1,000 Faces," which he considers among the darkest songs they have written. ''Mane Attraction'' is the fourth studio album by the glam metal band White Lion. It was released in 1991 (see 1991 in music) by Atlantic Records, and reached No. 61 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and No. 31 in the UK. Overview After two years of writing and recording, White Lion released ''Mane Attraction'' in the spring of 1991, and was received well by the fans. Unfortunately, the album failed to reach the top 20 like the last two albums. It received little or no airplay due to the recent Grunge explosion. ''Capricorn'' is the debut solo album by former White Lion and Freak of Nature lead singer, Mike Tramp. First released in France on the CNR Music label on October 17, 1997, the album was subsequently given a much wider distribution with the North American release on the 10th of February 1998 through CMC International, at which point Tramp commenced a solo tour in support of it. The album was also picked up in Britain by Music for Nations. Background Tramp started working on the album following the split of '' Freak of Nature'' and the album features former Freak of Nature bandmates, guitarist Kenny Korade and bass player Jerry Best. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements.
