Remember Me This Way (film)
''Remember Me This Way'' is a 1974 documentary film about the British glam rock star Gary Glitter. Filmed the previous year, the documentary follows Glitter through a routine of press conferences, radio interviews, photo shoots, concert rehearsals, and so forth. It also includes Glitter's audition to star in an unproduced feature film. The picture also documents the people working behind the scenes of Glitter's career. It shows them pressing copies of his records, and attending meetings where Bell Records staff discuss Glitter's record sales and arrangements for his concerts. The movie follows Glitter and his entourage through to a sell-out concert at the Rainbow Theatre in London, and features songs from the show at the end, including a rendition of his song "I Love You Love Me Love". Gary Glitter
Paul Francis Gadd (born 8 May 1944), best known by his stage name Gary Glitter, is an English former singer, songwriter, and record producer. He achieved success during the glam rock era of the 1970s and 1980s, and his career ended after he was imprisoned for downloading child pornography in 1999. He was also convicted of child sexual abuse in 2006 and attempted rape in 2015. After performing under the name Paul Raven in the 1960s, Gadd changed his stage name to Gary Glitter in the early 1970s and had a sustained solo UK chart run of hits including " Rock and Roll (Parts 1 and 2)", "Do You Wanna Touch Me", "I Love You Love Me Love", "I'm the Leader of the Gang (I Am)", and "Hello, Hello, I'm Back Again". Glam rock is a style of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s and was performed by musicians who wore outrageous costumes, makeup, and hairstyles, particularly platform shoes and glitter. Bell Records (UK)
Bell Records was an American record label founded in 1952 in New York City by Arthur Shimkin, the owner of the children's record label Golden Records, and initially a unit of Pocket Books, after the rights to the name were acquired from Benny Bell who used the Bell name to issue risque novelty records. A British branch was also active in the 1960s and 1970s. Bell Records was shut down in late 1974, and its assets were transferred to Columbia Pictures' new label, Arista Records. 1950s At its inception in 1952, Bell specialized in budget generic pop music, with the slogan "music for the millions". Originally sold on seven-inch 78rpm and 45rpm records for 39 cents (US), this style of music went out of fashion as rock and roll became more prevalent.
