Remarul ''16 Februarie SA'' based in Cluj-Napoca is a railway rolling stock engineering company with services including repair, maintenance and modernisation. History The company's history dates back to the Austro-Hungarian period - 1870, with the creation of a railway workshop to serve the Cluj–Oradea line (Grosswardein-Klausenburg railway.Part of the ''Ungarische Ostbahn'', a line from Nagyvárad (Oredea) to Kolozsvár (Cluj) to Brașov, Brassó (Brașov)); the works repaired wagons and locomotives. The initial wooden works building was constructed in 1870, this was replaced by substantial rolling stock works on the current site in 1874 - a locomotive repair shed of 1653m2, a wagon repair shed of 3200m2 and a mechanical workshop of 2190m2. With additional offices, warehouses the site had an area of nearly 36,000m2. In 1882 the works employed 200, by the 1890 the number had risen to nearly 500. Public Company
