Remake (2003 Film)
''Remake'' is a 2003 Bosnian war film directed by Dino Mustafić, produced by Enes Cviko and Martine de Clermont-Tonnerre. The film is a Turkish-French co-production. The film stars Ermin Bravo, Aleksandar Seksan, Ermin Sijamija, Dejan Aćimović, Lucija Šerbedžija, Emir Hadžihafizbegović, Miraj Grbić, François Berléand, Évelyne Bouix, and was written by Zlatko Topčić (based on incidents which occurred in his life). ''Remake'' tells the parallel coming-of-age stories of a father living in Sarajevo during World War II and his son living through the Siege of Sarajevo during the Bosnian War. The film premiered at the 32nd International Film Festival Rotterdam on January 23, 2003. The film's US premiere was at the 2004 Wine Country Film Festival (San Francisco), where it won three awards: Best First Feature, Best Actor (Ermin Bravo) and Award for Peace and Cultural Understanding. Zijah Sokolović (born 22 December 1950) is a Bosnian actor, writer and director. He is the director of ''Theaterland'' in Salzburg, professor at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, artistic director of ''Dežela gledališča'' theatre in Ljubljana and artistic project leader for Dramatic society, ''Dramatično društvo'', but also directs plays in Belgrade, Zagreb, Banja Luka and in his hometown of Sarajevo. Jasna Diklić
Jasna Diklić (born March 8, 1946) is a Bosnian theatre and film actress. She was born in Sarajevo. Her mother was also an actress and a puppeteer. Diklić's first theatre experiences began at MESS Festival's experimental theatre studio, after which she proceeded to study acting at the Department of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. She was first engaged professionally by Banja Luka's National Theatre in 1969. Shortly thereafter, she was hired by a small Sarajevo theatre presently known as Kamerni Teatar 55. She has appeared in over 150 theatre and film roles. She has won a number of awards for her roles and is one of the founders of The Sarajevo War Theatre. Helena Minić-Matanić (born 8 March 1979) is a Croatian film, stage and television actress. Her debut role was in the 2003 multiple award-winning Bosnian film ''Remake''. Biography Helena Minić was born in Pula. She attended a drama school in her hometown and graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo in 2002. Her first roles were in soap operas in Zagreb. She has worked in the Istrian National Theatre, and in theatres in Virovitica and Zagreb. She received the Croatian Society of Dramatic Artists award. The 53rd annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from February 6–16, 2003. Bosnian War
The Bosnian War ( sh, Rat u Bosni i Hercegovini / Рат у Босни и Херцеговини) was an international armed conflict that took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992 and 1995. The war is commonly seen as having started on 6 April 1992, following a number of earlier violent incidents. The war ended on 14 December 1995 when the Dayton accords were signed.
