Rejvíz
Rejvíz (; ) is a village and administrative part of Zlaté Hory in Jeseník District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. It is a popular tourist destination. Geography Rejvíz lies in the Zlatohorská Highlands and also extends into the Hrubý Jeseník mountain range in the south. It is located in the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area. At an altitude of above sea level, it is the highest village of Czech Silesia. Nature Rejvíz is also name of a national nature reserve, which was officially founded in 1955 and covers 3.97 km2. It is composed of the largest peat bog in Moravia and Czech Silesia with small lakes of glacial origin. Recent studies have found the Rejvíz bog to be one of the best preserved woody raised bog complexes in Central Europe as core sampling reveals its organic deposit started to accumulate nine thousands years ago or even earlier. Zlaté Hory
Zlaté Hory (; until 1948 Cukmantl; ) is a town in Jeseník District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 3,700 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected as an urban monument zone. Hrubý Jeseník (sometimes called High Ash Mountains in English; or ''Hohes Gesenke'', ) is a mountain range and geomorphological mesoregion of the Czech Republic. It is located in the east of the country in the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian regions. It is the second highest mountain range in the Czech Republic. Etymology According to the most probable theory, the name has its origin in the word ''jasan'', i.e. ' ash'. The Opawskie Mountains (, ) or Zlatohorská Highlands / Zlaté Hory Highlands (, ) are a mountain range of the Eastern Sudetes in the Czech Republic and Poland. Location The Opawskie Mountains stretch from northern Czech Silesia into Polish Upper Silesia, the eastern continuation of the Golden Mountains range. It borders on the Nízký Jeseník range in the south and the Hrubý Jeseník (High Ash Mountains) in the southwest. The Polish part of the range includes the protected area known as Opawskie Mountains Landscape Park. It is named after the Opava River with its source in the neighbouring Hrubý Jeseník range. The moor frog (''Rana arvalis'') is a slim, reddish-brown, semiaquatic amphibian native to Europe and Asia. Moor frogs are known for their ability to freeze solid and survive thawing. Subarctic Hawker
The subarctic zone is a region in the Northern Hemisphere immediately south of the true Arctic, north of hemiboreal regions and covering much of Alaska, Canada, Iceland, the north of Fennoscandia, Northwestern Russia, Siberia, and the Cairngorms. A relictual population is a population currently inhabiting a restricted area whose range was far wider during a previous geologic epoch. Alpine Newt
The alpine newt (''Ichthyosaura alpestris'') is a species of newt native to continental Europe and Introduced species, introduced to Great Britain and New Zealand. Adults measure and are usually dark grey to blue on the back and sides, with an orange belly and throat. Males are more conspicuously coloured than the drab females, especially during breeding season. The alpine newt occurs at high altitude as well as in the lowlands.
