Reinhold Bartel
Reinhold Bartel (1 March 1926 – 10 August 1996) was a German operatic tenor. Life and career Born in Trier, Bartel studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and already at this time appeared at the Theater Bonn as Rosillon in ''The Merry Widow''. In 1953 he got his first engagement at the Theater Trier. In 1956 he moved to the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, where he was a member of the ensemble until his stage farewell in 1977. On guest tours he appeared among others at the Vienna State Opera and the Grand Theatre, Warsaw. Bartel mainly took over scores from the lyrical tenor field: the title hero in ''Serse'', Idamante in ''Idomeneo'', Don Ottavio in '' Don Giovanni'', Tamino in ''The Magic Flute'', Jacquino in ''Fidelio'', Wilhelm Meister in ''Mignon'', Lenski in ''Eugene Onegin'' and Stewa in ''Jenůfa''. Tenor
A tenor is a type of classical music, classical male singing human voice, voice whose vocal range lies between the countertenor and baritone voice types. It is the highest male chest voice type. The tenor's vocal range extends up to C5. The low extreme for tenors is widely defined to be B2, though some roles include an A2 (two As below middle C). At the highest extreme, some tenors can sing up to the second F above middle C (F5). Wozzeck
''Wozzeck'' () is the first opera by the Austrian composer Alban Berg. It was composed between 1914 and 1922 and first performed in 1925. The opera is based on the drama ''Woyzeck'', which the German playwright Georg Büchner left incomplete at his death. Berg attended the first production in Vienna of Büchner's play on 5 May 1914, and knew at once that he wanted to base an opera on it. (At the time, the play was still known as ''Wozzeck'', due to an incorrect transcription by Karl Emil Franzos, who was working from a barely-legible manuscript; the correct title would not emerge until 1921.) ''Die geschiedene Frau'' (''The Divorcée''), is an operetta in three acts by Leo Fall with a libretto by Victor Léon based on Victorien Sardou's ''Divorçons!''. Conducted by the composer, It opened to considerable success at the Carltheater in Vienna on 23 December 1908 with Hubert Marischka as Karel. It was translated into Italian and premiered at the Teatro Lirico Internationale in Milan as ' on 16 August 1909, then translated into English and performed at the Vaudeville Theatre in London as ''The Girl in the Train'' from 4 June 1910. Margit Schramm (21 July 1935 – 12 May 1996) was a German soprano in operetta, opera and song. She also appeared as a film actress and hosted a television show. In the 1960s, she became known as an operetta diva (called "Queen of operetta") on stage, German television, in numerous concerts and in films, where she often appeared together with her favourite stage partner, the tenor Rudolf Schock. Herta Talmar (4 July 1920 – 24 June 2010) was an Austrian operetta singer (soprano) as well as an actress. Life Born in Salzburg, Talmar first stood on a theatre stage at the age of eleven; in the operetta ''Die Kaiserin'' by Leo Fall at the Salzburger Landestheater. She received her singing training at the Salzburg Mozarteum. René Kollo
René Kollo (born 20 November 1937) is a German operatic tenor, especially known for his Wagnerian Heldentenor roles. He also performed a wide variety of operas and operettas, and made several recordings. Biography Born René Kollodzieyski in Berlin, he grew up in Wyk auf Föhr. He attended a photography school in Hamburg, although he had always been interested in music, particularly conducting. He did not begin to perform (as a self-taught drummer) until the mid-50s. He played in jazz clubs and studied acting with Else Bongers in Berlin. To prepare for musical roles, he studied with Elsa Varena, who quickly recognized that he had an unusual gift. He signed his first recording contract at 20 and recorded popular hits.
