''Reinas'' () is a 2024 coming-of-age drama film directed by Klaudia Reynicke from a screenplay she co-wrote with Diego Vega which stars Abril Gjurinovic, Luana Vega, Jimena Lindo, Gonzalo Molina, and Susi Sánchez. It is a Swiss-Peruvian-Spanish international co-production. Premise In 1990s Peru, two sisters are about to leave their country when they unexpectedly reconnect with an absent father. This relationship will both amplify and ease their pain of change. Klaudia Reynicke
Klaudia Reynicke is a Swiss-Peruvian filmmaker. Early life and education Reynicke was born in Lima, where she lived until age ten. She spent much of her early life in Switzerland and Florida. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida, where she studied visual arts and anthropology, and a master's degree in sociology from the University of Lausanne. In 2005, Reynicke studied film at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. She later completed a master's degree in film studies through a joint program from École cantonale d'art de Lausanne and Geneva University of Art and Design. Career Reynicke directed her first short film, ''Great Expectations: NY'', in 2005 while at New York University. After graduating from the ECAL-HEAD joint program in 2010, she participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus program. The Locarno Film Festival is an annual film festival, held every August in Locarno, Switzerland.
