Regis Catholic Middle School is a Catholic school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, located at 735 Prairie Drive NE. It opened in the year 2000. Formerly a Catholic high school opened in 1958 as a successor to Immaculate Conception High School, it drew students from the parishes of All Saints, Immaculate Conception, St. Joseph (Marion), St. Matthew, St. Pius X, and St. Wenceslaus. That school merged with LaSalle High School to form Xavier High School in 1998. Regis High School is an American private Jesuit secondary school for Roman Catholic boys located on the Upper East Side of the Manhattan borough of New York City, New York. In 2017, Regis was ranked as the top Catholic high school in the U.S. by '' Town and Country Magazine''. History Regis High School was founded in 1914, through the financial bequest of a single (originally anonymous) benefactress, Julia M. Grant, the widow of New York City mayor Hugh J. Grant. She stipulated that her gift be used to build a Jesuit high school providing a free education for Catholic boys with special consideration given to those who could not otherwise afford a Catholic education. The school continues that policy and does not charge tuition. The Grants' former home is the residence of the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, where the pope stays when he visits New York City. Regis High School is a co-ed Catholic high school in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in the Diocese of La Crosse. The school serves grades 9 through 12 in high school, while the school building also houses Regis Middle School which serves grades 6 through 8. It is part of the Regis Catholic Schools system, which also includes three elementary schools. Bishop John Joseph Paul helped establish the present school. History Regis High School was originally known as St. Patrick's High School. In 1914, Father A.B.C. Dunne added a two-year high school to St. Patrick's grade school. A third year was added in 1919. Monsignor Casper Dowd, Father Dunne's successor, began the construction of St. Patrick's High School and gymnasium in 1927, which housed a four-year high school program. Regis Jesuit High School is a private, Catholic, college preparatory high school administered by the Central and Southern Province of the Society of Jesus in Aurora, Colorado. It was founded by the Jesuits in 1877. The high school shares much of its history with Regis University in neighboring Denver, Colorado. The school is a member of the Jesuit Schools Network The school is located in the Archdiocese of Denver. History The school was founded by Italian Jesuits in 1877 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Another school was opened in Morrison, Colorado, seven years later. In 1888, the two schools were merged and renamed for St. John Francis Regis to become Regis College, located on 52nd and Lowell Streets in Denver, Colorado. In 1921, the school was formally split into Regis High School and Regis College (now Regis University). The high school and University co-existed on the campus in Denver and shared facilities until a separate building was built on campus for the high school in 1984. ...
