Reg Thomas (athlete)
Reginald Heber Thomas AFC (11 January 1907 – 14 March 1946) was a Welsh middle-distance runner. He competed at the 1928 and 1932 Summer Olympics and the 1930 British Empire Games. He missed the 1936 Summer Olympics because of injury, and did not compete in the 1934 British Empire Games for Wales, because of English objections. At both Olympics he was eliminated in the first round of the 1500 metres event. At the 1930 Empire Games in Hamilton, Ontario, he won the gold medal in the mile and the silver medal in the 880 yards. He could not compete for Wales because Wales did not have a national athletics association at the time. Welsh track and field athletes could only compete for England in 1930 although Welsh swimmers did compete for their home nation. In 1931 he broke the 10 year old British record for the mile with 4 mins. 13.4 secs to underline his status as Britain’s leading miler. Reg Thomas (English Footballer)
Reginald George Thomas (2 January 1912 – 16 March 1983) was an English professional footballer who played as a full-back in the Football League for Southampton in the 1930s. Football career Ellison was born in Weymouth, Dorset and as a youth played for various clubs in his home town. In September 1930, he joined Southampton as an amateur, signing a professional contract in December. Described as a "hard-tackling full-back", he was used as cover for long-serving Bill Adams. He spent most of his time with the Saints in the reserves, making 83 appearances in his four years at The Dell. His first-team debut came on 12 March 1932, when he took the place of Adams at right-back for the game against Bradford City, with Adams moving to the left in the absence of Arthur Roberts; the match was lost 1–0. Reg Thomas (ice Hockey)
Reginald Kenneth Thomas (born April 21, 1953) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played primarily in the World Hockey Association (WHA). Career After a standout junior career with the London Knights, in which he scored 309 points in only three seasons, he was drafted by both the Los Angeles Sharks of the WHA and the Chicago Black Hawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Thomas played seven seasons in the WHA for the Sharks, Michigan Stags, Baltimore Blades, Indianapolis Racers, and Cincinnati Stingers. After the dissolution of the WHA he played 39 NHL games for the Quebec Nordiques in the NHL, and ultimately retired from hockey in 1985 after a spell in Austria for WAT Stadlau. Reginald Thomas (born May 20, 1953) is an American politician from the state of Kentucky. A member of the Democratic Party, Thomas is a member of the Kentucky Senate and currently serves as the minority caucus chair.
