''Regina Regina'' is the only album by the American country music duo Regina Regina. It was released on Giant Records on January 28, 1997. The album includes the single "More Than I Wanted to Know". Critical reception Giving it 3 out of 5 stars, Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic called the album "an appealing set of contemporary country distinguished by Regina Nicks and Regina Leigh's pure, close harmonies, which help give weight even to the mediocre material that clutters the record." He thought that the single "More Than I Wanted to Know" was a "highlight". Dan Kuchar of ''Country Standard Time'' gave the album a positive review, saying that it had a "well-defined trademark sound" and was "high-energy country pumped up with heavier than normal drums and guitars". He thought that the album had pop crossover potential. Regina Regina
Regina Regina was an American country music duo formed in 1995. The duo consisted of female singers Regina Leigh and Regina Nicks, respectively natives of North Carolina and Lufkin, Texas. Leigh was formerly a backing vocalist in Reba McEntire's road band, while Nicks was a personal assistant for McEntire and a former member of Dave & Sugar. The two met through the assistance of producer Wally Wilson, who wanted to include Nicks in a female duo. Nicks felt that she was unable to find a suitable singing partner until Leigh heard one of her demos and decided that she wanted to work with Nicks. The two were brought to Giant Records then-president James Stroud in 1995. Regina Regina released its only album in 1997. Rosemary Patricia "Pebe" Sebert ( ; born March 17, 1956) is an American singer and songwriter from Brentwood, Tennessee, and the mother of singer and songwriter Kesha. Sebert has co-written number-one hits for Dolly Parton, Pitbull, and Kesha, her daughter. Sebert and Kesha have written 11 published songs together. Brent Rowan
Brent Rowan (born May 28, 1956 in Waxahachie, Texas) is an American session musician and record producer who works primarily in country music. Active since the 1970s, Rowan began working with John Conlee through the recommendation of record producer Bud Logan. Rowan first played on Conlee's "Friday Night Blues", and later became the only guitarist for Conlee's recordings. He also played guitar for Alabama, Alan Jackson, Chris LeDoux, Clay Walker, Confederate Railroad, and others. In 1989, Rowan was awarded Guitarist of the Year by Academy of Country Music. Michael Rhodes (musician)
Michael Rhodes is an American bass player, known for his session work and touring in support of other artists, and his collaborations in bands and ensembles. Biography Rhodes was born in Monroe, Louisiana, and taught himself to play the guitar by age 13 and the bass soon after. In the early '70s, Rhodes moved to Austin, Texas, where he performed with local bands. Four years later, Rhodes moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he performed with Charlie Rich's son Alan. In 1977, Rhodes moved to Nashville, and he joined local band The Nerve with Ricky Rector and Danny Rhodes. He worked as a demo musician for Tree Publishing Company, and then as a session player. Steven Jay Nathan is an American keyboardist. He is known for his session work in Muscle Shoals and Nashville studios. Biography Nathan was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. In 1977, Nathan moved to Muscle Shoals, Alabama. After touring with LeBlanc and Carr, he participated in the recording of Lenny LeBlanc’s first solo record. For the next 14 years, Steve played on records produced by Rick Hall at FAME Studios, often teaming with Roger Hawkins on drums and David Hood on bass. Paul Franklin (musician)
Paul V. Franklin (born May 31, 1954) is an American multi-instrumentalist, known mainly for his work as a steel guitarist. He began his career in the 1970s as a member of Barbara Mandrell's road band; in addition he toured with Vince Gill, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed and Dire Straits. He has since become a prolific session musician in Nashville, playing on more than 500 albums. He has been named by the Academy of Country Music as Best Steel Guitarist on several occasions. Stuart Duncan (born April 14, 1964) is an American bluegrass musician who plays the fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and banjo. Life Duncan was born in Quantico, Virginia, and raised in Santa Paula, California, where he played in the school band. He is married with three children. Duncan has been a member of the Nashville Bluegrass Band since 1985. Larry Byrom
Steppenwolf was an American-Canadian rock band that was prominent from 1968 to 1972. The group was formed in late 1967 in Los Angeles by lead singer John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn, and drummer Jerry Edmonton, all formerly of the Canadian band the Sparrows. Guitarist Michael Monarch and bass guitarist Rushton Moreve were recruited via notices placed in Los Angeles-area record and musical instrument stores. Liz Hengber (born August 22, 1959) is an American songwriter and musician based in Nashville, Tennessee. Hengber was born in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from New Milford High School in New Milford, New Jersey in 1977. She graduated from the Theatre Department of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in 1981. Hengber began her song-writing career after moving to Nashville, where she initially worked at the Bluebird Cafe as a waitress.
