Regina Amollo
Regina Amollo (born ) is a Ugandan writer. Biography Trained as a nurse, Amollo started writing her first novel, '' A Season of Mirth'', in 1976. She was encouraged to complete the manuscript by one of her professors, Austin Ejiet, but it took until 1999 for the book to be published. The book, which explores male chauvinism and women's oppression in Uganda, is now required reading for Ugandan students. Amollo retired from nursing in 2009. She has published several other books, including ''When Mother Leaves Home'' and ''The Pain of Borrowing''. A Season Of Mirth
A, or a, is the first letter and the first vowel of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Kumam Dialect
Kumam is not a Luo (also spelled LWO) dialect of Uganda although past linguists have wrongly grouped it under Luo languages. It is rather an Ateker language mixed with Luo vocabularies spoken by the Kumam people of Uganda. It is estimated that Kumam dialect has 82 percent lexical similarity with Acholi dialect, 81 percent with Langi dialect and 20 percent with Teso language. However, these are often counted as separate languages despite common ethnic origins due to linguistic shift occasioned by geographical movement.
