Reggie Tsiboe
Reggie Tsiboe (born 7 September 1950) is a Ghanaian-British entertainer, dancer and one of the singers of the disco group Boney M. between 1982 and 1986 and later between 1989 and 1990. In 1982, Tsiboe originally replaced the dancer Bobby Farrell, but in 1984 Farrell rejoined the group and they became a quintet. In 1986, the original band split after 10 successful years, but in 1989, Liz Mitchell and Reggie formed a new official version of Boney M. and in 1990 released with the help of the producer Frank Farian the single "Stories", but a few months later both went their separate ways. Tsiboe appeared on the last three Boney M. albums: '' Ten Thousand Lightyears'' (1984), ''Kalimba de Luna - 16 Happy Songs'' (1984) and ''Eye Dance'' (1985) and also recorded Christmas songs with the group, which were internationally released only after the split of the band on the new Boney M. Kumasi (historically spelled Comassie or Coomassie, usually spelled Kumase in Twi) is a city in the Ashanti Region, and is among the largest metropolitan areas in Ghana. In 1986 producer Frank Farian took the master tapes from 1981's ''Christmas Album'', added six recordings by Liz Mitchell, Reggie Tsiboe and two session singers from 1984, remixed them and created ''Die 20 schönsten Weihnachtslieder der Welt'', internationally released as ''The 20 Greatest Christmas Songs''. ''Daddy Cool'' is a musical based upon the works of Boney M. and other Frank Farian produced artists. It premiered in the West End in 2006, followed by UK and international tours. It is currently (2017) touring Germany with excellent reviews and sold-out theatres. The musical tells the story of Sunny, a young man who lives for his music. Caught up in local rivalry between East and West London crews, he meets and falls in love with Rose, daughter of the East End's notorious club owner Ma Baker. Echoing ''Romeo and Juliet'', the lovers' relationship fuels the hostility between the two gangs, leaving their families face to face with past secrets and forcing them to confront their future. Marcia Barrett (born 14 October 1948) is a Jamaican-British singer and one of the original singers with the vocal group Boney M. Early years Barrett was born in Saint Catherine Parish, British Jamaica; her parents brought her to Croydon, England in 1963. In the late 1960s she moved to Germany, where she joined a band and toured with Karel Gott and Rex Gildo. In 1971 she signed to Metronome Records and made her first record, "Could Be Love", written by Drafi Deutscher. "Mother and Child Reunion" is a song by the American singer-songwriter Paul Simon. It was the lead single from his second studio album, ''Paul Simon'' (1972), released on Columbia Records. Background It was at the time one of the few songs by a non-Jamaican musician to use prominent elements of reggae. Simon was a fan of reggae music, and he listened to artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Desmond Dekker, and Byron Lee; he wanted to go to Kingston, Jamaica to record the song, as that was where Cliff had recorded his antiwar song "Vietnam" in 1970. The title has its origin in a chicken-and-egg dish called "Mother and Child Reunion" that Simon saw on a Chinese restaurant's menu.
