''Reggie Mixes In'', also known as ''Facing the Music'', is an American 1916 silent action/comedy-drama film starring Douglas Fairbanks and directed by Christy Cabanne. The film was produced by Fine Arts Film Company and distributed by Triangle Film Corporation. The film is extant and in the public domain. Plot Wealthy Reggie Morton (Fairbanks) falls in love with Agnes Shannon (Love), a dancer on the Bowery, and takes a job as a bouncer to be near her. His rival is Tony Bernard (Lowery), the leader of a gang, whose henchmen attack Reggie. Reggie fights them off, and then fights the gang leader in an empty warehouse to determine the winner of Agnes's love. Cast Production The working title for the film was ''The Bouncer''. William Christy Cabanne (April 16, 1888 – October 15, 1950) was an American film director, screenwriter, and silent film actor. Biography Born in 1888, Cabanne (pronounced CAB-a-nay) started his career on stage as an actor and director. He appeared on-screen in dozens of short films between 1911 and 1915. He gradually became a film director and in fact one of the more prolific directors of his time (see filmography below). He signed on with the Fine Arts Film Company and was employed as an assistant to D.W. Griffith. Miriam Cooper credited him with discovering her as an extra in 1912. Lillian Langdon (November 25, 1860 – February 8, 1943) was an American film actress of the silent era. She appeared in more than 80 films between 1912 and 1928. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Langdon was a descendant of Montgomery Pike, discoverer of Pike's Peak, and Jasper Crane, founder of Newark. She acted on stage before she began her career in films.
