Reg Leafe
Reginald James Leafe (15 December 1914 – 2001) was a FIFA referee in the 1950s and early 1960s. Career He was appointed to the 1955 FA Cup Final at Wembley on 7 May 1955, when Newcastle United beat Manchester City 3–1. He was subsequently an English representative at the 1958 FIFA World Cup, taking charge of the Group A game between West Germany and Argentina on 8 June 1958. He then refereed a quarter-final tie as Sweden defeated the Soviet Union 2–0 on 19 June 1958. The FA Cup Final, commonly referred to in England as just the Cup Final, is the last match in the FA Cup, Football Association Challenge Cup. Béla Guttmann
Béla Guttmann (; 27 January 1899 – 28 August 1981) was a Hungarian footballer and coach. He was born in Budapest, Austria-Hungary, and was Jewish. He was deported by the Nazis to a Nazi slave labor camp where he was tortured; he survived the Holocaust. Before the war, he played as a midfielder for MTK Hungária FC, SC Hakoah Wien, and several clubs in the United States. Guttmann also played for the Hungary national football team, including at the 1924 Olympic Games. Guttmann coached in ten countries from 1933 to 1974, and won ten national championships and, most notably, two back-to-back European Cups with Benfica. He also coached the national teams of Hungary and Austria, having also coached club football in the Netherlands, Italy, Brazil, Uruguay, and Portugal. He is perhaps best remembered as a coach and manager after the war of A.C. Milan, São Paulo FC, FC Porto, Benfica, and C.A. Peñarol. Robert Dienst
Robert Dienst (1 March 1928 – 13 June 2000) was an Austrian football forward. He died in 2000 after a long illness. Club career Robert Dienst started his career at Floridsdorfer AC, where he played his first game as a midfielder during World War II. He turned into a prolific striker at Rapid Wien and became one of the most successful Austrian goalscorers in the 1950s, three times topping the top goalscorers charts and winning six league titles. With his 307 Bundesliga goals, he is still Rapid's record league goalscorer. He scored 323 goals in 351 games in total in the Austrian Football Bundesliga. Rapids are sections of a river where the river bed has a relatively steep gradient, causing an increase in water velocity and turbulence. Rapids are hydrological features between a ''run'' (a smoothly flowing part of a stream) and a ''cascade''. Rapids are characterized by the river becoming shallower with some rocks exposed above the flow surface. As flowing water splashes over and around the rocks, air bubbles become mixed in with it and portions of the surface acquire a white color, forming what is called "whitewater". Rapids occur where the bed material is highly resistant to the erosive power of the stream in comparison with the bed downstream of the rapids. Kenneth Wolstenholme
Kenneth Wolstenholme, DFC & Bar (17 July 1920 – 25 March 2002) was an English football commentator for BBC television in the 1950s and 1960s. He is best remembered for his commentary during the 1966 FIFA World Cup Final; in the closing minutes, Wolstenholme commented on a series of pitch invaders as Geoff Hurst dribbled down the pitch before scoring, saying "some people are on the pitch, they think it's all over!" The phrase has become deeply embedded in British popular culture. Early life Wolstenholme was born in Worsley, Lancashire. His family were Primitive Methodists and his brother attended Elmfield College.
